Walked in to order a meal during a stop over at Doha airport, but I guess the lady didn’t understand me when I said I don’t eat bread and sugar cause next thing I knew she was telling me not to eat there cause all their meals have gluten and are served with bread (pita). Tried to let her know that I have no issues with gluten meals but communicating was not going anywhere.
Anyways, I settled on the Tangines order - Chicken and Olives and waited for another server. But immediately he came up she told the person that I had gluten allergies. I was cross but stayed focused.
He asked me to sign a disclaimer that exonerated them if anything happens to me, which I did.
However, I have to say that I did not regret my meal choice. The seasoning - oil, tender carrots, lemon and olives was bursting flavours in my mouth OMG!!! It was definitely worth the agro.. The way it melted in my mouth adding some nice glossy velvety feel to the couscous made my eyes shut in pure joy while devouring it. I savoured every bit of that meal I almost ordered another cause I wasn’t going to be tasting it where I was going. It was good!! Kudos to the Chef.
And kudos to the server that served me, he was very polite and customer focused.
I’ll definitely recommend Comptoir Libanais anytime, especially this meal for anyone who is diabetic or running away from bread. The atmosphere and decor is very...

The granola is minuscule, too small, for any international standard or breakfast dish. (Check the photos, compare with the hot chocolate cup, which is also already medium/small for itself)
It's 7am im Qatar Doha airport, so they don't offer most of the dishes. Still Ok, I'm fine if there are healthy breakfast options.
For me, one of the strong reasons I choose lebanese restaurants, is they include a reasonable amount of fresher (vegetables, fruits) ingredients that would provide me with the vitamins, minerals, and fiber the aeroplane food, for example, does not provide.
However, they didn't have anything I asked at first! No "Avocado, Feta &Tomato" item, No freshly squeezed juices (none of the half dozen options that are written in the menu!), No tea (rose and mint something tea...)!
I finally opted for a green tea... The service provides the water and industrial tea-bag separately. I.e water arrived without the bag in it! So it started cooling down before arriving at my table and the leaves did not even open properly...
Also, we were not allowed to sit on the tables I I find nicer. There's a cleaning sign whereas in reality nobody is cleaning nor needs to clean. They are placed in the center of the room, it seems easy to serve there, I asked if I could sit there, and the answer was "I'm sorry... It's also...
Read moreHad an awful experience at this restaurant. I've been to Comptoir Libanais in the UK and the Netherlands but this location really does not know how to treat clients.
Firstly there weren't many customers but despite us making an order and clarifying when our flight would be departing, the waiter took a very long time to get our teas. He even forgot and came back to ask what type of tea we wanted.
I ordered their breakfast with humus, flatbread, potatoes, eggs and lamb sausages. Several times had to go back to ask where the food was and we had to get out flight. The brought the food without the sausages and I had to go back to let them know they forgot it. While it is a standard ingredient for the meal I chose. Then they asked us to wait another 15 minutes. So I said we didn't have the time and asked for a discount to reduce the total price as we didn't get the sausages. They waiter agreed and charged me for one tea instead of two.
Whilst I was trying to pay he was stressing with the machine and without my consent a pressed on Okay to pay in the local currency whilst I wanted to pay in EUR. So I ended up paying extra for the currency exchange. Despite me letting them know that I wasn't happy about this and the overall service, they ignored me.
I eventually paid about 25 EUR for a breakfast meal that was dry and not complete.
Avoid this place...
