Edit: 27 May
Got to visit the restaurant again! This time ordered the 24h braised beef burger recommended by the staff and same had the sweet potato fries and ordered a banana milkshake. The beef burger tasted good and the beef could easily melt in your mouth. Burger portion was really big I kinda regretted ordering the sweet potato fries before I could finish the burger. The sweet potato fries still pretty well fried, but this time seemed to changed a little. Gone was the days they had like slight sugar powder or sort sprinkled on the fries but this time round it was plain. They have also changed the sauce to the jalapeño mayo which didn't complement with the fries. The menu did mention vanilla powdered sugar but there was none. The banana milkshake tasted a bit weird it has a sweet and sour taste. I still finished it but nothing happened. Service could have been improved. Took very long to get the staff attention. I raised my hand and after a few minutes a female staff saw me and walked over to serve me, but was stopped by a male staff who said he will serve me instead but ended up not coming.
Finally with the opening of the new extension in Doha airport, there are more food options to eat. I was having a transit and I chanced upon the new extension and saw the Gordon Ramsay burger restaurant. Have visited a few of his restaurants and didn't really think the food was great but decided to try this anyway because was pretty famished. The staff actually recommended me to try the Hell's Kitchen or the American burger but I decided to go with the Portobello burger. Also added a side of the sweet potato fries. Tried to grab the burger up in the hands to bite but it was just too messy. The experience was much better leaving on the plate and cutting into bite sizes with the knife. I think the burger was not too bad, probably nothing to complain about since I love mushrooms. The most amazing was the sweet potato fries! I really liked it a lot and I thought I could order another one but was already quite full and got a plane to catch. Really memorable fries will definitely drop by next time again for the fries and probably try other burgers. Price was slightly on the expensive side but it was expected since dining in the airport as well as a...
Read moreI had a 5 hour transit in Doha and it was around lunch time and I was hungry. As it was on of the most if not the most sensational Airports in the world, not only in its decor but in terms of sensational options of restaurants and Cafe's you had to choose from, I was so over indulged in options. I literally went from north to south side of the transit terminal 3 times because I couldn't decide where to eat. Finally I remembered seeing online that there was a Gordon Ramsey Burger restaurant here and so I quickly checked the prices online and it seemed much more cheaper than it would be in London. So I knew I couldn't pass up an opportunity. Not the easiest restaurant to find in the terminal but I finally did after asking a few of the airport staff for directions. It is quite hidden as it is behind the forest area and on the corner (feels like it is right at the edge of the terminal).
So I finally enter and was welcomed in and shown to my seat by Jaynee. She was soo helpful as I couldn't decide between the hell's kitchen and 24hr Braised beef Burger, so she recommended to me to order the the 24hr graised beef as it was her personal favourite. And it did not dissapoint.
One of the most mouthwatering, appetising, juiciest flavouful burgers you'll have. I think its the cheese croquette which propells it from a good burger to a fantastic burger. Only issue is that its a towering burger so difficult to fit the whole thing in your mouth for a bite. But It's still probably the 1st or 2nd best burger I've ever had.
However I was dissapointed with the truffle mac&cheese croquettes as a side and the truffle sauce accompanying the side was even worse for me. Some may like it but not for me.
I would like to have tried the sticky toffee pudding but the Burger was very filling and was the reason I didn't have enough room for desert.
I would like to give a special shout out to Jaynee for her advice and her service throughout. Also, the restaurant was not busy at all at the time, plus i had plenty of time to kill before my flight so I'd like to thank Jaynee for the wonderful conversation we had about food and...
Read moreI looked forward to trying this. I walked the length of the airport to find it. I write this 10 minutes after eating there because I'm actively angry about it. What a lame joke. I just paid $55 for a small and an extremely mediocre "Farm" burger, tiny baby mini bottle of Coke, and to quote the menu "Just Fries." They refuse to cook this burger lower than "Medium." The egg was fried to destruction. After the first bite of the burger, I thought perhaps the "Just Fries" might at least be something better than insulting... they come in a promising soda-fountain-style metal cone... which has a ridiculously shallow false bottom so you actually get at most about 1/3 of the amount of "Just Fries" you'd think by looking at the outside. What a lame cheap cheesy rip off anywhere... and then at these prices on top of that. There are 10 pubs, a dozen restaurants, and at least 3-4 drive-ins just in Sacramento, CA with far superior quality burgers alone, to say nothing of the price. I'm angry I fell for this phony celebrity gimmick con. Never again. Anywhere. He's got a branded pizza joint next door too, probably on par with Pizza Hut in quality and Spago in price.
By the way they also have a $109 burger on menu if you'd like to be separate from even more money. The decor is basically just a giant sized poster of that stupid preening mug you can stare at as you chew rubber egg and become increasingly angry realizing what you just fell for. I'm a very, very casual dresser myself to be sure but for a $55-109 burger, no fries included, I expected all the servers could at least wear nicer jeans. Or maybe even not jeans? Or if the staff dresses like McDonalds how about...
