Rin Japanese restaurant （飲み喰い処 りん） — Restaurant in Kutchan

Took an hour to receive our mains. All the food was just ok. Would have ordered more drinks but wasn't able to get the waiters attention for long periods. We were charged a 10% service fee for the privilege.

Worth noting the wait staff were actually nice and helpful, but run off their feet. The restaurant has a strange system of taking all bookings at two different times (6pm, 8:10pm), resulting in two waves of customers who all order food and drinks at the same time and the two people in a tiny kitchen have to scramble for the next few hours to make everything.

Good effort by the staff (clearly not enough people working) but the service was outrageously slow, and not at all organised. For a table of 5 people, the meals all arrived at different times, with approx 40 minutes between the first and last arriving. As a result, we ordered dessert before the mains had finished being brought out. The final main was delivered to one of us approximately 15 seconds before they brought the dessert.

The food itself was okay, but nothing particularly notable. I would say the desserts were better, but didn't make up for the relatively...

We made a reservation through our hotel but something got lost in translation and the booking was never made with Rin (I believe it was made with another restaurant called Ren..?). We had our heart set on eating here and the management was very sympathetic to our situation and seated us in a private room for dinner even though we were a fairly large group.
