This is the best restaurant both me and my partner have been to not only in Bucharest, but perhaps Europe (at least Prague, Athens, Frankfurt and Amsterdam). Firstly Pavel, our server was incredible from drink and food recommendations, to food checks, and his nature, truly a professional and a phenomenal server, a true pleasure to the team! The atmosphere is divine, especially the Terrace to which we had all to ourselves. Finally the food and drinks, we had mocktails, gin, as well as hot drinks, all were exceptional. We had the Schnizel, Beer sausages and Pork Neck as well as several sides, all food was cooked perfectly, the schnitzel had crunch, the meat had flavour - all foods cooked perfectly and piping hot, and perfectly priced. Finally the dessert, the Romanian donuts were out of this world. This restaurant was our favourite aspect of Bucharest, with the best food in the whole city - perhaps slightly toxic but GO HERE NOT TO Caru' cu bere!! It’s better than any other place we have experienced so far. And we will return again when next in Bucharest. Thank you for such a pleasant meal, and a wonderful last evening in the city. Pavel -...

If you’re in Bucharest and want a truly memorable yet affordable meal, this restaurant is a must.

The highlight of my visit was the ceafă de porc — perfectly grilled pork neck. Juicy, tender, and rich with smoky flavor, it had just the right char on the edges and came with delicious traditional sides. It’s one of those dishes that makes you savor every bite and reminds you why Romanian comfort food is so beloved.

I also tried the șnițel de pui, and it was just as fantastic. Crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and tender inside — simple but cooked with care, exactly how a schnitzel should be.

The food alone makes this place special, but what truly sets it apart is the service. Our waitress, Gabriela, was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure everything was perfect and adding a personal warmth that made the meal feel even more enjoyable.

For the quality and portion sizes, the prices are very reasonable, making this a spot I’d happily recommend to anyone.

✨ Verdict: Between the unforgettable ceafă de porc, the fantastic șnițel de pui, and Gabriela’s kind service, this restaurant offers one of the best dining experiences...

Hanu' Berarilor Casa Elena Lupescu offers a truly regal dining experience in a stunning location. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, transporting you back in time with its elegant decor and historical significance.

The service was impeccable, with attentive and professional staff catering to our every need. We were particularly impressed by the house beer, served at the perfect temperature and boasting a refreshing, flavorful profile. My brewer's pork steak, while slightly dry, was nonetheless delicious and satisfying.

However, our experience wasn't entirely flawless. My wife's carp brine was unfortunately served almost cold, which detracted from its overall enjoyment. Additionally, the dish had a slightly bitter taste, likely due to the inclusion of the brown part of the fish, which we found a bit off-putting.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hanu' Berarilor Casa Elena Lupescu, the issues with the carp brine and the slightly higher-than-average prices prevent us from awarding a full 5 stars. Nevertheless, we highly recommend this restaurant for those seeking a taste of history and a refined dining experience...
