Peking Duck — Restaurant in Bucharest

Visited this place on a Valentines Day, we went thinking that a restaurant that is called Peking Duck will actually serve decent Peking Duck. Was not the case. Besides a single waiter that knew what she was doing everybody was in their first day probably. I usually don’t include service in my reviews but if you ask 50E+ for a menu, I kinda expect it to be done with proper service from the runner, bartender and waiter.

For the food, what can I say, the serving style was proper with everything needed on the table but the Duck was bland and tasteless, the skin was not crispy and it was surely badly coocked, like a normal Duck, nothing special, nothing new. The way the waiter cut the Duck was semi-professional with the exact number of slices and she offered us to make a soup or to fry the remainings. Well... we chosed soup and I can testify that the soup was the worst soup I have ever tasted in my life, of that I am 100% sure.

First of all I’m Chinese. We ordered four dishes, two are very salty. The pork ribs are black, over fried, taste burnt. The duck taste ok, but the waiter who cut it doesn’t know how to do it at all, a waitress was standing next to him to tell him what to do. There were a lot of meat left on the duck, didn’t even cut the leg. At the end, First the waiter take the receipt folder before we leave, and he has the nerve to bring it back to me and open it on the table. See I didn’t leave a tip he asked for it. Got there with high expectations since I saw it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in town, but was disappointed even from the entrance when the waitress didn't show us a table and just said "pick one" without moving a finger. The place looks very nice, decorations and furniture like in a real Chinese place, music too. Waitresses unfortunately were dressed like in their homes but maybe I'm just too picky.
