Francesca Residence — Hotel in Bucharest

I genuinely don’t understand the reviews and the comments about cleanliness as this was one of the dirtiest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in.

I tried to push through the first night, but second night I had to check into another hotel after I realised what was under the bedsheets/mattress. Enormous dust bunnies, lots of hair from previous guests, stains and cherry on top which prompted my departure: bed bug exoskeletons. There were also “rust marks” which further indicate a potential infestation.

I went to great trouble that night, had to check in the alternative accommodation at midnight after spending hours inspecting my luggage and belongings for a potential infestation because I don’t have to explain to anyone how extremely serious this is.

The carpet was also dirty, broken furniture, dust, dirt on the doors and walls, dried boogers, stained chairs and just a general state if greasy-ness.

I find it impossible this rates so high on cleanliness, in fact the reason it had good reviews on cleanliness was the main reason I booked it, so imagine my absolute shock.

I’m sorry for the host because she was kind, but this level of carelessness must be addressed and changed.

Please consider the above before booking.

Later edit addressing the response: I left the review one week after check out indeed, not two weeks, I don’t see why that’s an issue if I just found time now. I never said anything because I’m not a confrontational person and I preferred to leave the premises and leave a review instead, it’s not like you could have done anything for me, I didn’t want to stay in the premises nor anything else. Please let me know how do you believe I could have “planted” months worth of dirt in your apartment, I’d be very interested to hear theories. I sent you screenshots on whatsapp demonstrating I left your place on the second night and stayed at a different hotel, won’t share here for privacy reasons of course.

Perfect place - lovely owner who helped my wife and I with everything. If you want an overpriced touristy hotel in the old town with a bland brand name (hilton, novotel etc) then you should do that. If you want a charming experience with lovely helpful staff, a couple of cats to play with in a lovely Bucharest neighbourhood then I would thoroughly recommend walking up here from the old town. Este o locație pe care am apreciat-o de la cazare și până la check-out. Mi-a plăcut disponibilitatea și respectul personalului față de oaspeți. Camera în care am am stat a fost la etajul 1. Camera mare, cu pat dublu și saltea foarte confortabilă. Terasa mare și cu vizibilitate spre curtea interioară unde sunt locuri de parcare disponibile pentru cei cazați. Baia mare și curată cu 2 chiuvete. Toată locația a fost curată. Bucătăria comună dotată cu tot ce ai nevoie (de la frigider până la aparat de cafea, tacâmuri, veselă etc). Recomand această locație și la următoarea vizită în București cu siguranță acest loc va fi pe lista scurtă pentru opțiuni de cazare, mai ales că distanța până la stația de metrou Obor este de 5-7 minute de mers...
