Butcher — Restaurant in Tverskoy District

The steak cuts here are insanely small and dry. On the menu it says a steak cut is 300 grams, which already feels small, since the usual steak cut is around 500 grams, but when they serve you the actual steak it looks 200 grams at best. It's tiny and it's dry. There are literally no juices in it. One of the worst steaks I have ever had in my life.

Everything else here is also from bad to average. The portions are tiny. I seriously don't understand how this place could have a 4.8 rating. The food is bellow average. Not to mention the service is horrible. The waiters are incompetent. I mean I still left a good tip out of pity, since they aren't bad people, but holly molly.. they hire literally people who don't know how to serve the table and it seems they don't even give them basic training.

Also, unlike the food, this place has Michelin star tier prices, which also surprised me. This is definitely NOT a Michelin star restaurant. You will end up paying around 100-150USD per person for a full course. If you include a bottle of wine then add 100-150USD on top of that. It's a scam.

Walked into this Restraunt after a visit to a nearby museum, an unregretably delicious experience. I ordered green salad and spicy calamari as a starter, while the salad was fine, but the calamari sauce was out of this world in taste and the calamari it’s self was neither chewy nor hard, but greatly textured. For the main course, I chose the butcher burger. This burger was probably the greatest I’ve ever tasted. The burger was a juicy mix of bread and meat, the type of meat that melts as you bite into it 🤤. I’d totally recommend to order. And, to end it off as grandly as we started, I ordered a crème brûlée and cheesecake which gained everyone’s liking and did not drop my expectations by one bit. Nice place, good English speaking staff and great steaks. That’s a short summary of this great place.

Not the cheapest place, especially the wine is a bit expensive.

The chef cook cuts the meat next to your table and makes a nice show of it, nice !

It would be better if the steaks were served more hot, same counts for the side dishes.
