Overview & Ambience: Blue Garden presents itself as a contemporary Lebanese restaurant, enhanced by a select range of international specialties—most notably biryani, Kabsa, and dynamite shrimp. The dining room is warm and inviting, with modern décor and comfortable seating. Valet or underground parking is recommended, as street spaces can be scarce.
Soups & Mezze: • Harira Soup: Exceptional—generous in portion, artfully presented, and rich in both aroma and flavor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Halloumi Salad & Fattoush: Both salads were outstanding. The halloumi was perfectly seared and paired with crisp greens, while the fattoush was vibrant, fresh, and beautifully dressed. Portions are ample, and presentation is impeccable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Appetizers & Specialties: • Hot Potatoes: A superb starter—crispy, well‑seasoned, and delightfully spicy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Eggplant Fatteh: Creamy and tangy, with a lovely balance of textures. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Dynamite Shrimp: Tasty and generously portioned, served atop curly fries. This rendition is mild rather than spicy and does not replicate the original P.F. Chang’s recipe, but it remains a worthwhile indulgence. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Other Mezze: Enjoyable but less memorable compared to the highlights above. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Main Courses: • Stuffed Lamb: Beautifully presented with well‑balanced flavors, though the meat itself was slightly dry and the portion on the modest side. Introducing a selection of complementary sauces would both moisten and elevate the dish. • Chicken Biryani: A mild, “modified” take designed for those who prefer less heat. Impeccably cooked, though it lacks the authentic warmth and complexity found in traditional Indian or Pakistani biryanis. • Sayadiya Fish: Pleasantly seasoned but slightly dry. The fish appeared to be of average quality; the dish would benefit from a richer sauce—perhaps a tahini drizzle or herb‑infused jus—to enhance moisture and depth. • Mixed Grill: A standout entrée. The assortment of meats and chicken was expertly grilled, juicy, and full of flavor. This is the dish I would order again without hesitation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note on Rice‑Based Mains: I observed that several rice‑accompanied dishes (biryani, Sayadiya, stuffed lamb) tended toward dryness. A thoughtfully paired sauce or jus would markedly improve the mouthfeel and overall enjoyment.
Service: Service was prompt and efficient, with no noticeable delays. The staff were courteous, though a more proactive approach—such as personalized menu suggestions and attentive table‑side engagement—would elevate the overall experience.
Value & Verdict: With an average spend of SAR 150–200 per person, Blue Garden sits at the higher end of the mid‑range market. The quality of food and ambiance justify the price point, though refinement in certain dishes and enhanced guest interaction would further solidify its value.
Conclusion: Blue Garden offers a largely successful exploration of Lebanese cuisine, punctuated by well‑executed international touches. With minor adjustments—to the moisture and portioning of its stuffed lamb, the authenticity of its biryani, the succulence of its Sayadiya, and the polish of its service—this restaurant has the potential to become one of Riyadh’s premier dining destinations. I look forward to returning and witnessing its...
