HAVENUE CHINESE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Municipality of Al Shamal

We enjoyed the Beijing duck with its crispy skin and the pancake which remained soft throughout the meal. The chef who was carving out the duck was very skillful and we enjoyed watching him carefully carve the duck.

However we were disappointed that the rest of the duck carcass was just carted away to the kitchen. In other places they often make the carcass into soup or another dish to use up the rest of the duck.

We shared one duck amongst 4 people but felt that we could have more.

We enjoyed the other dishes, the beef noodles, the stir fried bream with bok choy and flavored winter melon.

The tea is charged per tea pot so every time it is refilled, there is an additional charge.

For a party of 4 people, our bill came to sar700 plus. The portion size is quite small, felt like we could have ordered more dishes.

Service was attentive and although they are charging fine dining prices I do not feel that the food is necessarily fine dining style. The winter melon came with a plastic flower decoration which in my opinion unnecessary as I do worry if the plastic flower is washed after every serving or reused on another plate. I would prefer a vegetable decoration or none at all. Seems like it’s just to fill up the plate to make the dish look more.

Dined at Havenue Chinese restaurant with mixed feelings. The absolute highlight was undoubtedly the Beijing duck - truly exceptional and a must-try dish.

My meal included: Beijing Duck (Outstanding - Best item by far!) Seafood Soup (Lacked salt, disappointing) Fried Shrimps (Just okay) Beef Main Course with Steamed Rice (Decent but unremarkable)

The restaurant has potential, but needs improvement. The decor was quite unusual, with a black ceiling that visibly collected dust - which was quite off-putting. I believe the restaurant could benefit from: Adjusting menu items to better match local tastes Improving overall cleanliness, especially the ceiling Enhancing the flavor profile of some dishes

While the Beijing duck was exceptional, the other dishes and restaurant maintenance leave room for significant...

Just to start with positives: location/settings are nice

Food is overrated/overpriced .. most likely we won’t return

Family of 5, the only order we liked is the prawn tart starter (exceptionally delicious), the rest however +950 SAR priced dishes we barely tasted.

Noddles were salty and oily Fried shrimps as well 7 treasures soup was bad The dumplings was little better thu

Overall super expensive Chinese food where u can find much more better quality and better prices ..

Wish i can rate higher but frankly from experience it deserve even lower rating Ppl evaluate restaurants based on many factors For me i care about food quality not even price .. if bad then restaurant deserve 1 ..
