We enjoyed the Beijing duck with its crispy skin and the pancake which remained soft throughout the meal. The chef who was carving out the duck was very skillful and we enjoyed watching him carefully carve the duck.
However we were disappointed that the rest of the duck carcass was just carted away to the kitchen. In other places they often make the carcass into soup or another dish to use up the rest of the duck.
We shared one duck amongst 4 people but felt that we could have more.
We enjoyed the other dishes, the beef noodles, the stir fried bream with bok choy and flavored winter melon.
The tea is charged per tea pot so every time it is refilled, there is an additional charge.
For a party of 4 people, our bill came to sar700 plus. The portion size is quite small, felt like we could have ordered more dishes.
Service was attentive and although they are charging fine dining prices I do not feel that the food is necessarily fine dining style. The winter melon came with a plastic flower decoration which in my opinion unnecessary as I do worry if the plastic flower is washed after every serving or reused on another plate. I would prefer a vegetable decoration or none at all. Seems like it’s just to fill up the plate to make the dish look more.
