We went for a birthday dinner with friends and chose the menu “carte blanche”. Positive: Atmosphere was very nice, service professional. Amuse bouche, entree and pasta course were delicious and definitely showcasing excellent cuisine. We had a bottle of rosé wine, which was nice too. Negative: My plate was chipped - shouldnt happen at this price and the promise they offer. The meat course was nothing special, piece of veal that was chewy with a “grilled leave of cabbage” - a real scam. I didn’t even take a picture of it, it was not pretty. Then followed a berry ice cream - nothing mindblowing, standards were definitely sinking. The worst came at the end - a barbe à papa, DROWNED in rum with whipped creme and strawberries. Where is the creativity there?! There was also no balance at all in the dessert. I sent it back - after just one bite I felt drunk. They came with half a “caramel tart” - a shortcrust filled with caramel and whipped cream. A below average dessert, no creativity, no taste, seriously disappointing. The chef (who didnt seem to spend much time in the kitchen) didn’t acknowledge that the dessert was really not balanced nor inspiring. All in all, too expensive for what they offer. We paid CFA 58,000 for the menu (per person). In summary: Go somewhere else. They are getting a star for the entree, and one for the pasta plate. End of story. EDIT: careful - since I posted this review, several exclusively positive reviews were posted within only three weeks. There were no reviews previously despite the restaurant having been open for more than two years. I’d say looks a bit fishy…

Cash in your children’s college fund and treat yourself to a 5 star dining experience. This is a gustatory experience! Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was classy. Food was divine. We had a set menu consisting of 8 separate dishes each. Beautiful presentation of quality over quantity. If you’re really hungry, then go next door and get a pizza. If you want an EXPERIENCE, then this the place. Your kids can always go to trade school.

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Dakar. I can tell each dish has been carefully crafted and the presentation curated to perfection. The food is simply exquisite and served in a beautiful setting. Service is excellent.

As you walk into Barolo, I immediately felt like I had traveled to another country. The staff is polite and friendly and the decor is amazing. The music set the tone for evening full of class and refined dining. The carte blanche menu is perfect for those who love a surprising yet perfect pairing of the richest flavors. The meals are plated artistically and vibrant colors accompany the delicious smell thats enough to make your mouth water. One thing i really enjoy at this restaurant is their risottos and dessert. The fresh berry sorbet comes in a bed of yogurt with lime zest and its a perfect light and fresh ending to any meal. Honestly 15/10 would...
