The decor is very a la mode and the plating is nice. We went for brunch, the plates have a good amount of food. It seems that it's common in Dakar for eggs to be very undercooked (maybe this is a French thing?). The whole table asked for over easy eggs and in anticipation that they would be undercooked, we explained that we were looking for the egg white to be cooked through, the waiter said oh yes over easy with the runny yolk - he seemed to understand perfectly. They brought sunny side up eggs that were barely cooked. Two of us also asked for no meat with our order and the waiter said no problem and that he would add cheese instead. They brought us the meals with meat and when we told them we asked for no meat, they gave us a side plate to pick it out ourselves... I did not appreciate this at all.

EDIT: in response to the owner's reply - all communication was in French

The place was nice, but the service needs...

if your conditioned to something “familiar” then this is a 4star place. If you are looking for good food of Dakar Senegal I do not recommend. i was taking pictures for this review and the waitress came to me immediately to tell me i could not video. i explained i wasn’t videoing i was taking pictures. But the 2 Chinese ladies who was sitting right next to the counter had their phones, taking videos but they were never approached. I believe because i am a black american i was treated different in my own land. I waited extra long to even order my drink. I was about to walk out then the lady came. No one spoke english and i just felt outcasted . The bathroom was nice but no working drying machine’s or paper towels. i will not be returning here again. i can order pancakes and omelette in America. only thing i recommend is the Bissap(Hibiscus) drink. it was...

The kind of place we like to go but we don’t know why…. I could be critical of their bad running of the place, 2nd review… not my first visit at all… the worst in the service industry is when waitress to be direct with this place, spend more time on their phone and work with their phones in hand! Seating face to the corridor going to the loo, a waitress spent more then 2hours hiding from « I don’t know who » as guests are everywhere and passing her to go to the toilets… with her phone playing Charing with other’s staff members… Sad as if she was just paying more attention to her surroundings she might make more tips doing a job well done (like cleaning the dust from very dirty fake flowers, or the chandelier)Anyway this is the virus of the country as the work isn’t so important to them! Lucky I like the feeling of the messy...

Update 2023: Came here for a group brunch and we had a much better experience. The American Brunch was good, we chose the pork bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese option and the Mr. Sea Croissant Sandwich, which was VERY good. The strawberry banana smoothie was also delicious and creamy. Only downside was the carrot cake which was dry and had too much orange taste. The Oreo cheesecake was worth a try. I would come back. 2022 Came here for brunch. The decor is lovely, but the food did leave me a bit wanting due to the lack of flavors. We had the avocado toast and American brunch platter. I would return to try pastries and coffee, but not breakfast.
