Simply amazing! What a great place. The food was incredibly nice and tasty, the people were super friendly. We spent just four days on the island and came back to Rey & Josh Cafe three times. Once we had desert (can’t tell you whether the Gato Kreole with Mango toping or Banana Cake with chocolate sauce was better - you need to try both 🙃). Another time we came back for the fish curry, which was sold out - we had the Thuna with tomato sauce and the veggie curry - what a treat!! Obviously, we had to come back on our last day to finally try the fish curry - omg, it’s definitely one of the best fish curries I’ve ever had. Whether you opt for takeaway or eat there, you’re going to love this place. Oh, and btw - the prices are very reasonable and fair.

As other has said before, the ones running this place are so friendly and service minded. A great joy compared to many others on La Digue. I'm not sure why this is, but a lot of people in the service industry here just have a hard time with a simple hello and a smile. And for the food, it is mostly great so far. We have had chicken curry, lamb curry, chicken nuggets(home made and oh so good) etc. The vegetable curry was good, but should have been better as a side dish, which we made it to. Prices are great, most dishes cost 70-100 rupees. And this is a take away/restaurant. You get your order served, but in take away packaging, which works great.

We saw how highly touted this place was and thus had to check it out. Everything was affordably and/or reasonably priced, especially compared to the restaurants closer to the western shore/beach area. Unfortunately, choices were a bit limited when we visited, as there was no chicken curry, but the fish curry tasted fine. However, their signature dish, the octopus salad was absolutely to die for. Not only was it tasty, it was fresh and healthy. We will definitely go back at least once more before our time in La Digue is up in 2 days. The only downside is that the octopus salad took a while to prep, though the wait was worth it.

Outstanding!

Sometimes in life, you meet someone truly special — and for us, that was Rocky and his family.

My wife and I came to Rocky’s Takeaway for the first time, and from the moment we arrived, we felt the love — in the food and in the way Rocky and his family welcomed us like friends.

The food was full of flavour and heart. You can taste that it’s made with real passion. Every single bite was a joy! Rocky, your cooking and your smile truly made our stay on La Digue unforgettable. You were a big part of why we enjoyed it so much.

Thank you to you, your family, and everyone who served us with such kindness. Too bad we can’t give more than 5 stars — you deserve all of them and more!

Sending warm greetings from your German brother, Chris

P.s.

You always say, “Not too good, not too bad,” when asked how you’re doing. May the sun forever shine a little stronger than the...

Yes, we ate here 2 out of 3 days on La Digue. Yes, the food is reasonably priced. Yes, the food tastes ok/fine.

Is it worth the current 4.8 stars? Absolutely not. Keep in mind that this is 4.8 star to Seychelles standards (where food is horribly overpriced, greedy portions everywhere and not as tasteful as one might think).

So yes, on La Digue pay a visit to Ray and Josh and buy their take away. You wont feel robbed (even if you buy two portions per person or 3 portions for 2 people) and it fills your belly. Is it worth 4.8 stars if it was located in another country? No. Keep this in mind with all reviews in the Seychelles, from holiday homes to restaurants... or else you WILL get...
