Takamaka Cafe — Restaurant in La Digue

Edit: My first review was written before I knew what to expect from a takeaway on La Digue. This place does not hold up. Restaurant prices and the slowest possible service. The chicken salad is still very good but the "grilled" chicken is borderline inedible. But still costs 250 SCR! I would say... avoid and get food somewhere else and bring it over to the beach.

ATTENTION: TOURIST SCAM ALERT!!! DO NOT GIVE DONATIONS ITS A SCAM. The owners have caught a healthy wild bat and placed it in a tiny rusted cage, the previous bat died and was replaced by another bat. It is not a rescued bat. The bat has no fruit or water. This is ANIMAL CRUELTY. Please do not give them donations and please do not support people who do this to the wildlife...

This place is not recommended. The grumpy Madam working here does not want to work here (it seems). We ordered two chicken sandwiches. Waited for an hour. Yes, 1 hour! At least the bottle of Coke came from the fridge and didn't need preparing. The tide managed to go low from high while we waited for 2 sandwiches.

And sandwiches? Dry, sad quality. Like...
