i dont even know where to start, but the customer service here is a hot mess. tldr; the part-timers are great, perfect even. but the problem here are with the full-timers
to set some context: i visited as a student planning to get some work done, but i have visited this starbucks a couple of times but haven't been back for 4-5 months till today and have never faced such an atrocious service in any starbucks including this place till today.
went in the late morning and got a breakfast set with a drink and a plate of food and the FT cashier who took my order was being very curt and aggressive when taking my order but i was willing to see past it (maybe she was having a bad day at 11 am already) and quickly forgot about it -- note: i did see a recent negative review about the same FT by some other customer so i guess i wasn't the only one. but as i said this wasn't my first time at this outlet so i have seen this FT plenty of times before but her attitude took a crash since the last time i have been here
however things got bad real quick by hour 4: the manager/supervisor approached, basically asking me to buy something if i want to stay (which i COMPLETELY understand cause i'm staying for long hours) but the way he got about telling me that was so rude. he stared me down -- practically glaring -- when i didn't move at first but i was literally caught by surprise when he suddenly interrupted my workflow. so to repeat: i was completely ok with getting new items but i was so put off and taken aback by his attitude and the way he got the message across. is this really how a senior FT should be behaving? but funniest thing was that he himself had been occupying a table for a whole day so where was the care and concern regarding customers trying to get a seat there? but #workperks i guess.
so when i went to the counter to order myself a second plate of food, the same FT cashier from before served me again and but to no surprise, the attitude remained. but nevermind that, after i got my food i wanted a refill of a cup of iced water (which correct me if i'm wrong, but it's completely normal and ok to do so at the counter as long as they are not busy?).
so when i saw that there wasnt a queue, i went ahead to the collection area. saw that some PT and FT baristas were busy with some orders so i purposely waited till most of the orders were already served before i asked for a refill of iced water. the same FT from before took the cup from me and asked "iced water?" i said yes and she immediately started popping off and reprimanding me for asking them to refill water, that they are busy and i should just do it outside by my own in the park refill station. but: at that very moment, no one was in the queue and no one was waiting around the collection area; ie. i was the only one at the counter is that how a paying customer should be treated? i'm not trying to be entitled because i am typically very empathetic to service workers, but i'm very sure that there is a nicer way to bring the point across instead of brashly telling a customer off, and while refilling my water, look so disgruntled and unhappy about the situation
if this is their way from discouraging students from coming back, congrats it worked! i am just appalled at the level of service that i have gotten as a customer from starbucks. having worked in the service industry myself, a little bit of kindness don't kill. come on, do better starbucks
ps. i still really love the environment and location of the starbucks but the service today has told me enough about...
Read moredonât usually write reviews but this is an absolutely unpleasant and horrendous experience, super disappointed as me and my friend came all the way form Punggol to lakeside garden to experience this iconic starbucks. we reached ard 12 and ordered two cups of drink and even food, we did our work and ard 3pm, we were feeling super cold and wanna walk ard the garden since itâs the first time we r here, and unfortunately we got lost and took sometime to find our way back to the shop. when we came back abt 40 mins later, to our horror we found our seats completely occupied by other guests, ALL our belongings went missing, the drinks (i only took a few sip bruh), laptops, handbags and ipad. we asked the staff wheres our belonging, some manager looking guy came out and handed us our belongings, and i questioned him, why did u moved our valuables WITHOUT our permission? and he said âyou guys were gone for more than 30 minsâ, WOW, first i totally understand that the incoming guest need seats, BUT if u guys did not set up a dining time limit ( like coffee bean) and as a starbucks gold member for years, NONE of the starbucks i went in sg have confiscated my belongings and throw away my drinks tat obviously i did not finish, and MOST importantly, they did not apologise for their super rude behaviour at all. i did not make a fuss on the spot as others were focusing on their work. BUT if this is a standard thing, then do it in ALL Starbucks! how come lakeside one got âspecial treatmentâ ? so next time if any guest need to leave the store for any reason, go toilet, grab a snack or answer a call, they deserve to have their drinks and orders thrown away and valuables confiscated?? i must leave my phone number there so yâall can CONTACT ME when iâm away??? so disappointed with this starbucks as i had high expectations. the food and drinks was good, vibe there was chill until such thing happened. also when i came back to the store, there were plenty of empty seats in the store, itâs not until the point were ppl r queueing outside to get inđđ luckily me and my frens checked, all our valuables and belongings are still theređđ»but if u wan go starbucks next time, rmb to prepare your name card so they can contact u when u have to leave...
Read moreHad a bad experience with the cashier taking order from me. I placed the order not knowing there are only set meal for triple cheese ham,Cannot ala carte order. Mar the cashier rude educate me, "you never been to Starbuck before, is it? Your first time to Starbuck? This is set meal. Ah...set meal you understand?" I was shocked at her frustration channelled towards me. I didn't know it's set meal, she can be nice to remind me when I made a blunder. It's only 8.30am when I order and there are no cups available for dine-in drinks only plastics and paper cup used. I have photo to proof that I'm like the 8th-10th customers at 8.30am for dine-in and they served cups to the first 7 customers but no cup for my family. I don't like it. It's a wonderful lovely Starbuck place if I minus out the rude experience. Can be better lah...I even greeted her good morning without receiving a reply ok. Haiyo auntie, really treat Starbucks like kopitiam. (I might be targeted because I'm female Chinese.
