ASTONS Specialities @ The Central — Restaurant in Singapore

My first visit to this outlet. It's been some time since my last visit to this restaurant (at other outlets)...

First, the venue (@The Central) is nice and cosy. I made a reservation and gotten a table with a nice view by the riverside. We ordered 2 sets and some chips to share...

The Truffle Potatoes Chips was amazing!! 5-star for that! It's really a must-try! However, I gotten a bit disappointed when the steaks arrived... My steak was thin and was slightly over-cooked since I've asked for medium-rare... On the other hand, the accompanied vegetables were tough and undercooked. Sigh. Similar to mine, my friend's fish steak was 'flat' (as in, way too thin) and didn't look exactly appetising... Sigh.

It used to be good. But I truly think that the standard has dropped tremendously. Yes, I would have gotten this standard at a hawker centre (and sometimes even better) at a much lower price. But this is supposed to be a reputable restaurant! I would pay for a good steak, doesn't matter the price. But this standard is not up to mark, that's for sure. Sad.

Oh, by the way, the soup was good but the portion is really... Errrm... Just too small. I'm not sure if it would be bigger if I've ordered a-la-carte instead of the set. I'm not sure if I would visit again...

I was at this restaurant yesterday at 12:30pm. There was no queue although the restaurant was 90% occupied. There were at least another 5 tables unoccupied. Staff told us (3 pax) to be seated at the back of restaurant, but did not guide us to the table. I asked another staff where we could sit but was abruptly told to 'wait'. 3 of the 5 tables were not yet cleared or about to be cleared. After finding a table, we quickly decided to shift to another table as it was a little noisy with chatter. Glancing through the menu my wife wanted caesar's salad. I could not find it on the App. I asked for assistance from a staff and was immediately told that if it cannot be found on the App , the dish was not available. The staff then walked away. I concluded that it was rush hour lunch and staff were stretched. However this is not acceptable customer service. This is probably the result of a lack of supervision and motoring from...

I was ordering Chargrilled Chicken 2 set meal . Was servicing by one lady , She was friendly and nice keep smiling staff . When we was seeing her so happy we also fell happy while eating our meal. She served every customer with Happy and smiling face 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I would like to Give her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ her name is Grace Wee . And other Lady wearing black shirt , she walked over to our table and giving us a greeting by asking how the food today . Make me fell so warm & welcome 🙏, let me fell so happy environment here. I’m really enjoy our food her name is Adeline. The food was really nice chicken chop was not burning and juicy it’s was really nice foods.
