Today's experience was a tad bit of disappointing. I've been to Mitsuba 2 or 3 times this year, and even brought my friend who introduced me to this place for his birthday. However, today's experience led me to question if I should visit Mitsuba again. The food standard dropped a lot compared to 3 weeks ago when I dropped by for my virgin experience... I was all set on bringing my clients, and family members to this place based on my first experience. The food was a 7 out of 5, and the service used to be 10 out of 5. However, today, the deep fried and grilled food were too oily and the oil was not fresh. Perhaps, the first time I came was lunch and dinner is a disaster usage of a day's old oil. Not trying to accuse anyone, but the food is the main concept of a F&B. The service was next level atrocious. The previous few time I was here, a very kind lady who wore black patterned uniform served us with a smile, and even asked if the food was good. That simple act of being genuine made the food taste all better and the experience once in a life time. However, the green uniformed server today, was probably inappropriate bad mood... and time to time, it's understandable but to put all the unhappiness unto the customers should never be acceptable. Since the deep fried food was of terrible standards today, there was no way my friends and I could finish the food. We did not wish to get the kitchen staffs in any trouble since the food is understandably seasonal. However, the staff who served us came with a face as black as though she was not interested to work anymore. Or could it be her last month working here... that was how it felt like from a customer perspective at least. Moreover, it was my friend's birthday treat and I did not Want to spoil the day further. Her words were, "these leftover food are chargeable. Do u want me to clear?"... I kindly told her to clear it, as I didn't want everyone in the table to make a fuss and have the night spoilt by someone who is acting out. In all, tonight's experience is truly a sad one, as my favourite Japanese restaurant is yet again ruined. However, i wish to give mitsuba another chance, but I would definitely request for the seating area close to the sushi bar, as the lady in black is mostly stationed there...

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Mitsuba Buffet

Dear Management of Mitsuba,

I am writing to express my utter disappointment and frustration following my recent visit to your restaurant. My experience at Mitsuba was nothing short of a disaster, and I feel compelled to share the multitude of issues I encountered.

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was uninviting and chaotic. The floor was filthy, with visible dirt and food debris scattered everywhere. The seating area was cramped and uncomfortable, making it nearly impossible to enjoy a meal. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated, only to be placed at a table that had clearly not been cleaned or sanitized.

The food quality was appalling. The sushi was far from fresh, with an unmistakable off smell and a rubbery texture. The sashimi was warm, which is a serious health concern. Many dishes in the buffet were either undercooked or had been sitting out for so long that they were cold and dried out. The tempura was soggy, the rice was hard, and the miso soup was bland and lukewarm. It was evident that minimal effort was put into food preparation and presentation.

To make matters worse, the service was horrendous. The staff were rude, inattentive, and seemed overwhelmed despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. Requests for basic items like napkins and water were ignored or met with a hasty and begrudging response. Dirty plates piled up on our table, and it took forever for them to be cleared away.

The final straw was the state of the restroom facilities. They were filthy, poorly maintained, and lacked basic supplies like soap and toilet paper. This level of neglect is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone a restaurant that is serving food to the public.

Overall, my experience at Mitsuba was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The combination of poor food quality, terrible service, and unhygienic conditions made for an incredibly unpleasant visit. I will not be returning, and I will be advising others to avoid your restaurant as well.

I hope that you take these concerns seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure no other patrons have to endure such a dreadful...

Subject: Horrible Experience at Mitsuba - A Total Disaster

Dear Mitsuba Management,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding my recent dining experience at your restaurant. I visited Mitsuba with high expectations, but what I encountered was a nightmarish experience that I feel obligated to share.

Upon arrival, I was shocked by the utter disarray of the entrance and dining area. The floors were sticky and littered with trash, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Despite having a reservation, my party was forced to wait an additional 45 minutes, only to be seated at a table that was clearly neglected, covered in crumbs and sticky residue.

The food was atrocious. The sushi was anything but fresh, with a sour smell and a slimy texture that made it inedible. The hot dishes were cold and overcooked, with the teriyaki chicken resembling rubber more than meat. The tempura was a greasy mess, and the rice tasted stale. The selection was minimal, and what was available appeared to have been sitting out for hours, if not longer.

Service was equally appalling. The staff were unfriendly and dismissive, barely acknowledging our presence. When we finally managed to get their attention, they seemed annoyed by our requests for basic items like soy sauce and extra napkins. Our table quickly became cluttered with dirty plates, and it took forever for anyone to clear them away.

The restrooms were in a deplorable state, with dirty floors, overflowing trash bins, and a foul odor. There was no soap or hand towels, which raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene of the restaurant.

In summary, my visit to Mitsuba was an absolute disaster. The deplorable conditions, subpar food, and terrible service combined to create one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I will never return to your establishment, and I will strongly advise others to steer clear of your restaurant.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to improve your establishment. No one should have to endure such a dreadful...

Went there on Sunday 1130am-2pm session. My girlfriend and I was looking forward for the meal after reading some reviews on XHS. When arrived, was not greeted like other Japanese restaurant, it was cold, there are some tables already. The lady (not sure manager or waitress, pony tail, specs, plump) I think she had a bad mood that day... We chose the 59.9 normal buffet. We ordered sashimi, sushi, sides, mains. The complimentary grilled mentai scallop was Soso and oily. The edamame served cold, no salt, plain, which is OK maybe their style. When the waitress pass us another food, she made our edamame dropped from the serving plate, she didn't pick up or apologize, very unprofessional. The roasted pork like unsold last night and deep fried until hard like rock to serve again, food court roast pork also better. The cold tofu sides, strong alkaline taste. The tamago is pale color, doesn't feel fresh and taste different, but good when eat with mentai sauce. Grilled beef is overcooked, very hard to chew. Most of the items are average. Good thing about their restaurant is, Sunday afternoon don't need to book, very less crowd, about 5-6 tables occupied include us. Sashimi fresh and thick cut, a salmon wrapped sushi topped with mayo is good and the wrapped soft shell crab is good. We were glad we didn't order the premium else will be a waste. For the first time in a buffet, we don't feel like reorder again, only for very little items and tastiest is the Mingo lime ice cream. Everything above just our personal experience, maybe just that day itself wasn't good but it's our first and last time. The older waitress bad mood, the younger ones very attentive, helpful, and proper manner. There are better choices with similar pricing range out there. If there's grade ( S, A, B, C, D, E), this place will be B- or C+ for us.

My favorite japanese buffet place since pre-covid and am glad that they maintain the standard of the food throughout and there hasnt been any significantly huge increase in pricing over the years! When we first visited years back they were only a tiny unit. When we returned after covid they have expanded and took over the Ramen Champion unit. Now that it's bigger with more tables, the wait for reservations is shorter and more likely to get a table during walk-ins. Favorite thing about this buffet is that the serving is really small. It's prolly a bite or two kind of portion per serving. This is good cause it allows you to try more different items before you get full. And because it's a buffet you can order as many times and servings you want if you like any of the items from the menu. Secondly will be the variety and quality. The sashimi is always fresh, thick cut but not too thick that it's too much. Recommend to order the platter to try the different type of sashimi and you can go ahead to order your favorite sashimi individually after. Complimentary green tea hot and cold and ice creams are included in the buffet so there's no top ups required unless you want to have other seafood or alcoholic drinks. Friendly staffs and fast service and you do not have to wait long for your food. Lastly, we noticed this trip that they have new items on the menu! This is a good move as for long time supporters like us we can look forward to new items when we revisit. On a side note, the bean sprout and beef teppanyaki today was a little too salty. Other than that everything else was perfect as it always has been!

My group of 4 visited on a Saturday afternoon and had their premium buffet ($99.90++ per person). 1 dines for free with every 3 paying adults, so that works out to be about $90 per person after service charge and tax. The premium option offers a few more items like: - wagyu beef (meat is good quality, but taste is lacking) - mentaiko crayfish (good, but the mentaiko got a bit too much and we had to scrape it off the more we ate) - hotate (scallop) sashimi (very sweet and fresh) - iberico pork rib (extremely oily and such a huge serving. do not recommend!) - dessert of the day (mochi ice cream, decent) Some comments on their regular selection: - salmon sashimi is just regular cuts, not salmon belly. They cut it way too thick and there was so little fat, making it not very pleasing to eat. - truffle salmon gunkan was decent, and something I don't see offered commonly - there's only ONE dessert choice: ice cream, which came in 4 flavors. That's it. - very limited drink selection. canned drinks (3-4 choices) or tea. Service can be slow at times perhaps due to it being a Saturday. At times, we had to wait for quite a while, especially for cooked food. There was also a lapse in refill of tea and the changing of plates. It also took a while for them even when we called them over specifically to refill tea or change plates. The food had some hits and misses. In general, quality ingredients are used, but the chefs' skills don't seem to be able to match up. For the price, there are better places with a much wider variety and better tasting food, and a nice ambience to be had.
