On a cold rainy evening, there was a craving for some warm food. With Song Fa Bak Kut Teh on the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award list, a visit was soon arranged.
Ordering was done via QR code and one is expected to pay before the food is served. The smell of the Bak Kut Teh was so alluring and enticing. Consuming the succulent Pork Ribs with the flavourful peppery soup with the Rice and Mee Sua was heavenly. When one finishes the soup, one can even ask for additional liquid soup top up.
Having consumed Song Fa's Bak Kut Teh at a few other outlets, the feeling is that this outlet at New Bridge Road, across from Central Mall, is the best tasting outlet. Definitely worthy of its Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award.

Table was clean and big enough for placing few small dishes. Like situated in a Hawker stall. --- 6.8/10 Service: came at 1730 Sunday. Very busy. Long queue. Better says they are efficient. About 20 minutes, an usher asked us to use QR code and he scan our QR code to make sure our sequence. Then, we read the menu thro QR code. Soon, we were seated (passed through indoor and went outdoor). All utensils, seasoning, wet tissues, a small bucket (for bone) and a small bowl of chopped red chilli were placed on the table. We ordered immediately. Food served one by one fast. Refilled Bak Kut Teh soup 3-4 times until we paid. When we almost finished all dishes (we were still eating soup and rice), we were asked to pay first. We paid cash. We only spent 30minutes on eating. --- 6.8/10 Food: Normal presentation. Garlic was soften. I wanted a refill the soup once more before I left. Read moreIf you're looking for an authentic taste of Singaporean local food, you've got to try Bak Kut Teh, and Song Fa is definitely the place to do it. This popular dish is a peppery, savory pork rib soup, and it's commonly enjoyed with a bowl of white rice or alongside "油条 / Dough Fritters" for dipping.
Song Fa is a renowned establishment with a impressive track record, boasting 14 outlets across Singapore and earning the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for eight consecutive years (2016-2024).
Their menu features their signature Bak Kut Teh Soup Dishes, along with Braised Dishes, various vegetable sides, and small plates. They also have a good selection of Chinese teas to complement your meal.
Now, let's talk about the Bak Kut Teh itself. The pork ribs are incredibly tender and fall-off-the-bone, yet still have a satisfying texture. The quality of the meat is excellent—you can really taste the rich pork flavor, and there's absolutely no smell. The soup is a clear, flavorful broth, bursting with the essence of pork and pork bones. It's a delightful blend of salty notes with a strong kick of white pepper, plus a wonderful aroma and taste of garlic. A fantastic bonus at Song Fa is that soup refills are free!
For those who want to savor the pure meatiness, I highly recommend the "特级龙骨汤 / Premium Loin Rib Soup." If you prefer to enjoy the sweet, melt-in-your-mouth fattiness, then the "排骨肉骨茶 / Pork Ribs Soup" is...
