I give it 1 star for the first time. The hotel is in the best location in Singapore's Clarke Quay area, and after 4 years in Singapore, the hotel prices were unbelievably high due to the soaring prices and the weak yen. A mere 12 square meters cost about 20,000 Japanese yen. When I opened the door of the hotel, I was very surprised at how small the room was and how old the facilities were. The breakfast plan included breakfast, but I had to go to a Jayleen 1918 Hotel a few minutes' walk away. The buffet breakfast was very limited in variety, and when I got there, there was hardly any food. If there is no food already, no new food will be served. I ate the amount of breakfast shown in the picture and went right back. After checking out, I asked a female staff member of the hotel to take care of my luggage. The staff was not very helpful. I did not feel good about my interaction with the staff. I think the price of the hotel does not match the service and facilities at all. Next time I come to Singapore, I will not give priority to the location, but I will give higher priority to the hotel's review rating and the hotel's facilities.

Is this a luxury hotel? No. Are you going to be blown away by the amount amenities? Again, no. It is, however, centrally located making many of the popular tourist spots like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Merlion Park, and the Super Trees are all a relatively easy walk. Across the street is an easy access mall in case you need to pick up creature comforts or grab lunch or dinner. The room comes with basic toothbrush and shower cap packs and a TV with a few channels, but if you have your phone or an iPad with you, you will most likely rely on those. The walls are pretty thin, so if you have a noisy neighbor, you may have to ask the front desk to help you maintain quiet. The room is quite small, and the outlets were a little fussy when it came to connecting my adapter, but it all worked out. The shower and toilet are sandwiched into the same space, so bathroom friendly slippers are a must. The cost is affordable considering how much the big name hotels in the area are, so if you’re on a budget and don’t want a capsule hotel, this is a great place to stay.

So far it's fine .. got a room on the 4th floor ..their queen room .. came in around 9pm but Willy at the reception was very helpful and immediately made me feel at home . They exuded the old world charm and hospitality . Very comforting to a tired traveller . It's a mid range hotel, very clean and has all the rrquired basics .. the air-conditioning worked well ..great shower and although the bathroom is small it's effectively functional..the bed's comfortable.. rooms too are bit small but most Singapore hotels at this price have small rooms so I guess that's OK particularly since I'm a solo traveller . Breakfast is wholesome and is a buffet at their Jayleen 1918 hotel just a one minute stroll away . Location is incredible and well worth it ..and I'd certainly recommend it to any traveller who's interested in a convenient location at an affordable rate right next to the Clarke Quay MRT .

I got a really great price for this budget hotel for my 7N stay which was situated in a very good location. The MRT/bus stands are just across the road and walking distance to Chinatown, Boat/Clarke Quays, Fort Canning and Kampong Glam.||||No doubt the room is small but if you are like my son & I who spend most of the time experiencing Singapore and just needing a comfortable bed to sleep in, this is perfect for budget conscious travellers. There is even a safe in the room, about 6 International sockets for charging your devices, a fridge (albeit old) and tea/coffee making facilities. Infact, instead of the normal Nescafe satchets you get Kopi-O and 3 In 1 satchets! I also love the scented shampoo and bath gel.||||The only issue we had one night was music blaring way past 1am. However, when I informed the Reception the next day, they looked into it and we never had that problem again.||||Willie, the Front Office Manager and the 2 other ladies were really friendly and helpful. A real credit to the hotel. We would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again in future. Oh and the wifi...
