Went to Madura's Vilas today (7/3/2024) somewhere between 12noon to 12.30pm in the afternoon.
As my mum wanted RavaThosai.
Ordered 3 Plain Rava Thosais and 1 Vadai for takeaway at the front desk counter.
Total was $14.10. I paid and asked the indian guy, in Tamil who was manning the counter at that time, to request them to make our order quick.
To which he replied in Tamil, "seekiram aidum".
Me and my mum sat at the table facing the counter, waiting for our order.
We waited, (it was forever) while other customers walked in placed their orders for takeaways and also they were serving the dining in customers.
We got angry the moment, when an lady in her 50s or 60s got her takeaway order before us.
She came with her relative or friend. As her relative sat at the same table as us waiting for their order.
She came in 20minutes later than us and placed her takeaway order.
Me and my mum immediately got up, and questioned the guy in Tamil at the counter, asking him, how can you serve their takeaway before us when we placed our order before them 20 - 30 minutes ago!
He replied saying, their order was easy to complete.
Their order was curd rice, badam kheer and something else.
I completely lost my cool, and shouted at the guy so did my mum.
I told him to refund me back my money.
He immediately left the counter, and headed to the kitchen, came back 5-8 minutes with our takeaway order.
And said to him in Tamil, Do you guys do work only when someone scolds you?
All the other customers were just looking.
What can they do! It didn't happen to them!
Most of them patronizing the restaurant are Indian Nationals.
Once I look the food from him, I told him Thank you so much for your bad service!
We'll Never Ever Be Patronizing This Restaurant again!
(FYI: me and my mum are...
Read moreThis is the third episode of disappointment and I doubt I will ever step in here again. Let me go in-order so everyone knows I am fair in my review.
The first was an online order of a tiffin set with Poori. When we say Poori we expect 2 pieces any logical Indian mind will think that way,. When my Tiffin set arrived one piece of poori was cut into 2 halves!! When the matter was brought up to Ms Rooja the owner, she explained saying it's depended on the chef and how he makes!!!🤷♀️ Obviously, these ppl lost out on the diameter of a circle! I mean she can hardly converse in English forget diameter! So I have that a pass. So I am being patient and fair.
A couple of weeks later visited in-person. Service was so slow and they don't equip the tables with drinking water and paper cups. You have to ask atleast thrice before they pour you a cup of water and run off with the Jug😂 So again never mind, it could be and my way of looking at it!!
Today, same issue... ordered a paper dosai, it seemed it was made an hr back and there was no crispness. Basically, it did not meet the good health requirements of serving hot food. So I will ask authorities to check on their preparation time and serving. They could be breaching the mandatory NEA requirements. For the water part... same story... I think the man climbed the Himalayas to get water... it takes so long and then he runs away with the Himalayan Jug... 😂😂
Guys forget this restaurant, there are Madras Woodlands, Anandha bhavan and Komala's. You can endure pipping hot food, service and quality. I believe these owners are too rich to be bothered about feed back to enhance...

From the moment you step in, the warm and welcoming ambiance sets the stage for an incredible dining experience. The décor is simple yet elegant, making it perfect for a cozy family meal or a casual gathering with friends.
The menu is a feast for the senses, offering a wide variety of dishes that showcase the rich flavors of Tamil Nadu. The Thali meals are a must-try, featuring a perfect balance of traditional curries, sambar, rasam, and fresh accompaniments like chutneys and pickles, all served with soft, fluffy rice or perfectly made parottas. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors and is clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients.
A standout for me was their Chettinad Chicken Curry, which had the perfect blend of spices, paired beautifully with their freshly prepared dosa. The filter coffee at the end of the meal was the perfect finishing touch, rich, aromatic, and just the right sweetness.
The staff are attentive and friendly, ensuring your meal is served promptly while offering great recommendations for first-time visitors. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and quality of the food.
