We came as a group of 16 pax, so we were given 3 tables when we arrived. (We made reservations ahead of time)
Food came very promptly and was all piping hot, something we really really appreciate with both elderly and children in our group!! The food was great too, everyone loved the food - the tomahawk was done to the right doneness, the beef cheek was wonderful, the roasted chicken, burgers, fish and chips all wonderful.
The service we got that night however, was downright appalling.
The service staff kept trying to clear our table even when we were still eating. They did not seek our permission before trying to clear the table - they simply leaned over us and reached for our plates and tried to clear them.
I had to stop the service staff twice (not including my other family members) from clearing our plates because we still had food on them??? They did not apologize either.
The whole meal we either had the service staff hovering around our tables staring at us eat, or interrupting us and trying to clear our plates all the time. It was very uncomfortable and unpleasant.
When we tried to ask about water, your staff told us rudely “order from the app”. We couldn’t hear him because of the music so he repeated in an even ruder way “SIR, ORDER FROM THE APP”
Shortly after, one of the service staff took a customer’s water bottle and filled it for her, for free.
When the children at our table went to the playground for a short break, the staff immediately cleared the whole table of all plates and cutlery without asking if we were done. At one point there were 2 staff gesticulating at the empty tables that they cleared, unhappy that it was unoccupied (the children were at the playground)
One of your service staff glared at me with hostility, so I simply held his gaze until he turned away. I went to ask the hostess if there was a dining time limit, just to be sure we were not overstaying our welcome. She confirmed there was no dining time limit and I was free to stay for as long as I liked.
Strange how we were made to feel like we had to clear out of the restaurant ASAP. She later came back to whisper to me to say “there is no time limit for eating but please let me know if you are done with the tables so we can release the tables”, which I completely understand. I told her we were going to cut a birthday cake and then going to leave.
So we called for the cake, sang the song and cut the cake. When your very diligent service staff once again cut in front of us to clear our near-empty and unused plates, I told him we were done with one of the tables (at the end) and we were happy to release it.
(At this point there were still more than 15 empty tables in the restaurant)
He scoffed at me and said there’s no need to because we are still using the other 2 tables and there’s “no point” while rolling his eyes and gesticulating at me. I did not respond to him but chose to sit back down instead.
The music by Shirlyn and the Unexpected was wonderful though and made things a little better in the end!!!!
Full marks for the food and the music, but the service here...
Read moreReally solid place and went there for a friend’s birthday.
The place has a live band performing which adds to the atmosphere quite a lot.
We got the truffle fries, raspberry lamb chop (mine, most delicious thing I had in months), fish and chips and some burgers.
The food was reallly good and had a decent selection. The drinks however had an entire booklet and
The place itself was open air and the roof opened up while we were there (7:30pm ish) and the temperature was really comfortable.
For a bonus, theres a playground right next to the eating area so you could let your kids play there while the adults drink and enjoy themselves.
ALSO there is a really aesthetic instagramable Place with lightbulbs next to the restaurant (you can see it if you look around the bathrooms) and if there isnt a wedding going on you could take some pretty good pics
One of the few bad parts and I mean basically the only bad part about this is the overwhelminggg price of everything. A can of coke was $6 and the prices of the alcohol, even the cheap ones (vodka cola, beer etc etc) really start piling up that by the time you’re tipsy theres a pretty big hole in your wallet. Not to mention that the prices are not inclusive of the 10% service charge and the 7% gst.
Another con would be the staff. They are polite but don’t seem to understand what they’re doing very well and we had to repeat some of our requests twice (e.g can we get this dish, can we get some tissues etc etc) though this could be due to us being close to the stage
Also another pesky thing would be the huge air conditioner exhaust fans that will mess up your hair if you walk past it.
And another another peaky thing would be the menus. The number of drink choices far outnumber the number of dishes, the meal menu is made of paper and we all get a glass of water with no coasters so many became wet and hard to use. They also cross out things in the menu as they are no longer available for the day but this is done to each menu manually so when you ask for new menus with no marker marks there are some dishes that aren’t available that you might not know about (which is a bummer just when you picked what to eat)
Overall, if ur rich this is a really solid place for a nice dinner, if not be prepared to spend a...
Read moreLatest visit 2025 Jun- The Friday live band was lively and very entertaining, which added a lot to the atmosphere and made the evening enjoyable. Service noticeably improved after we ordered four bottles of wine, several cocktails, and a full dinner. Staff became more attentive and friendly at that point. However, the wine selection was quite pricey considering the labels were fairly average. The cocktails were also underwhelming in terms of taste and balance. As for the food, the beef cheek had good flavor but wasn’t as tender as expected. The octopus was overcooked and slightly burnt, and the sausage that came with it had an odd, plastic-like taste. The fish and chips were decent, although the batter was a bit too thick. On the positive side, the chips themselves were very good—thinly sliced potatoes fried to a crisp, and we even ordered an extra serving. The broccoli and corn were both delicious and well-prepared. A downside was that the venue did not provide complimentary drinking water, even though we had spent quite a bit on food and alcohol. Another issue was that the large fan cooling the space was turned off early, around 9 p.m., though staff kindly turned it back on when we asked. Unfortunately, mosquitoes were a big problem—I got badly bitten despite bringing my own insect repellent. Overall, we had a pleasant evening mainly thanks to the live band, but the food quality didn’t quite match the price point, and drinks felt expensive for what they were.
