I’ve been a regular customer of this place for years. Every time I fly through Bratislava, it became a tradition for my boyfriend and I to stop here for a Pad Thai and citrus tea. The food was never exceptional, but it was always decent for the price—some veggies, good flavor, and a satisfying quick meal before the airport. We’ve probably eaten here dozens of times.
However, our last visit was deeply disappointing and uncomfortable. We ordered two different dishes—mine was beef and pork, hers was chicken. When the food was ready, we picked up the dishes from the counter, where all orders are mixed together, with only small paper receipts placed under the bowls to identify them. Unfortunately, both our meals turned out to be incorrect. I ended up with double meat, and hers had beef and pork—completely wrong based on what we ordered and what was printed on the tickets.
We didn’t complain. Mistakes happen. We simply wanted to eat quickly and head to the airport. But then, one of the staff members approached us in a very ironic and disrespectful tone, essentially accusing us of taking someone else’s dish, as if we were trying to trick the system or steal. His attitude was not only unnecessary, it was humiliating. He spoke to us loudly and with visible sarcasm, instead of simply asking what happened or trying to clarify the situation.
To make matters worse, the pork in my girlfriend’s dish was nearly inedible—just big chunks of gelatinous fat with no actual meat. She couldn’t eat it, and I couldn’t either. So, in the end, she barely ate, and the whole experience left us upset and uncomfortable.
We even offered to pay for any eventual mistake, even though the way their system works (a chaotic self-service line with multiple dishes piled together) makes it extremely easy to grab the wrong order by mistake. But instead of accepting our offer or handling it professionally, the same staff member sarcastically declined, brought the original chicken dish to our table with a confrontational glare, and dropped it on the table in silence—only adding to the tension.
Honestly, it’s not just about the food anymore. The way we were treated—after being loyal customers for years—was disrespectful and unnecessarily aggressive. A polite explanation would have been enough. But being called out like that, especially when the system they use is prone to confusion, was uncalled for.
Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed our perception of the place. We won’t be...
Read moreThe interior design is very different from other take-away asian restaurants, it's cosy, modern, full of shapes and colors. I've been waited couple of months to come here, am a big fan of pad thai. I took classic one, I felt a bit under pressure with touchscreen, toooo many options how to mix my pad thai and nervous customers waited behind me. Then at 2pm I waited 20mins for a meal. The numbers of ready orders are only visible from one side in restaurant. The pad thai was nicely served in black bowl, freshly made with quite good texture. I prefer simplier version with less variety of veggies, but it was ok. The taste was a bit (much) disappointment. It doesn't taste authentic. I miss that perfect pad thai fishy sweet and savoury flavour, taste of chilli and a good squeeze of lime. I will give them another chance with no cabbage option (it was really too much even though I love asian cabbage)....
Read moreRead moreI visited PadThai first time sometime probably around 2014 in Budapest - a colleague recommended it and I quickly fell in love with the food. You can imagine my pleasant surprise at having one open in Bratislava. The food is just as good as it was in Budapest, but much closer to home :) It just seems the service is a bit slower. Or I may be more impatient than I used to be. I recommend mixing your own food and add my personal favorite Vermicelli, chicken/prawns/tofu (based on current preference), red Laos curry, cashew and some extra coriander on top. Never...
