Spice Guys — Restaurant in Bratislava

Seriously amazing new street food / comfort food establishment with some really interesting and delicious menu choices! We stopped by on recommendation from our friends and were definitely not disappointed. We had the smash burger, chicken wings with tater tots & chips and deep fried oreos (yes, really!). Everything was freshly made in front of us and the guys were super friendly and forthcoming when we asked about the menu, it really makes a difference to have service with a smile.

The smash burger was really reeaaally good, with a well grilled juicy patty in a (home baked, as we were told) sweet potato bun that came together quite nicely for a bite with the sauce, cheese and lettuce. The wings came very tender and nicely coated, with a great sauce and some fresh veggies on the side to dip. The deep fried oreos were also surprisingly good, complemented by a nice raspberry sauce (made from real fruits, too). It was plenty for two, and definitely well worth the prices.

In general I have to say that this is a great option when you crave uncomplicated comfort food but still want to get something interesting and authentic. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying other things on their menu....

Disclaimer: I’ll only talk about the wings, since unfortunately I am on a gluten free diet. We tried buffalo and jamaican jerk wings. The quality of the meat and the way it is served is really wonderful, but both sauces have a very specific, very strong taste which might not be for everyone. I would say for most “average Joes” who have no experience with American style wings, it would be either a love or hate experience. I personally would invite some third option which would be less spicy than the extremely hot jamaican jerk, but also not as sour as the buffalo wings. Just something nice to snack on and feel good about. Also, the prices for the wings are too high in my opinion. I could get a nicely served, perfectly tasty 400-500 g portion of wings with some veggies and even nachos or chips somewhere else for slightly less than 10 euros, so I am personally not very motivated to get these particular wings anytime soon. Still, I appreciate the concept and wish Spice Guys...

Smash Beef Burger - 10/10, maso kvalitne pripravene, krasny smashed styl, batatova zemla bola obrovskym prekvapenim drzala sa neskutocne, nerozpadala sa, chutovo vynikajuca. Chedar krasne roztopeny na mase, trochu salatu tomu pridalo sviezost a sriracha zase trochu pikantnosti.

Klasicke hranolky ozivene malymi tater tots, velmi dobra kombinacia spolu s dipmi, jemne okorenene hranolky, takze aj bez dipu budu chutit.

Najvacsie necakane prekvapko boli deep fried oreos, akoze uz len kvoli tomuto sa tam zastavte, nebudete lutovat, je to mind-blowing.

Na zaver by som len povedal ze slogan “damn good comfort food” je na mieste a kto ma rad burgre tak tento podnik by nemal chybat na vasom zozname.

Update 27.1.2022: Chalani sa zase raz prekonali a priniesli hotdog tak skvely, ze iny nebudete chcet. Ano, cena mu je primerana, 1 vas zasyti dostatocne. Zemla a chilli akoze neskutocne, jedina mala rada, by bola spravit parok trosku jemnejsi, nakolko crievko bolo hrubsie na zahryznutie. Kazdopadne chutovo vyladeny, je to strela na istotu!
