Found this cafe on my one night stop over in Poprad, I was so excited reading the menu and was imagining I would definitely give 5 stars, staff is very sweet and speaks some English, decor is lovely and cosy, however... I concur with other reviewers, it is quite disappointing. This place can be so much more if the owners can just put the thought to it. The menu sells itself well, but: I ordered vegan matcha with coconut milk and maybe it was lost in translation, but I was expecting matcha (green tea powder) with coconut milk, I got coffee.... that said, it also arrived with a straw! Come on guys, if you are trying to be a vegan cafe, look after the environment too and don’t offer straws when you don’t have to.... I also ordered a salad with buckwheat waffles, well I agree with another reviewer it was a lettuce from a supermarket with some avocado, sun dried tomatoes and some seeds. I was hungry, so ate it all, but I would never pay €6.30 for something like that in London. Last dish was a dessert, I ordered vegan sugar-free pancake with chocolate and banana... well maybe it was sugar-free, but I hardly finished half of it, it was full of sweetener and sweet fruits, and even some random colours m&ms on top (See photo) I will be drinking tons of water now to counteract the sweetness left in my mouth.... I can see others reviewed it well when ordered burgers, so maybe I would try it again on my way back through Poprad as there isn’t much other...
Read moreCompletely unexpected how many things this place got just right! I am not vegetarian, but we checked for a friend, and I could easily find multiple things that I wanted to try on the menu. (The place does not have a huge selection of foods, and some are changing daily.) The garlic soup, pasta with mushroom, tortilla (one of the few permanent dishes) were all delicious and creatively made. Portions are as expected at a decent price too (if you want to take half your food home for tomorrow, this is not the place for you). The waitress spoke perfect English and was nice and polite, which fit into the atmosphere of the restaurant perfectly. The beige interior, dimmed lights, and soft music give a very elegant look and feel to this place. I really recommend a visit for the pleasant experience and superb dishes, even if you are not...
Read moreWhile staying in Poprad I wanted to eat something vegetarian. I was enticed by the Lahodnosti's reviews, and I decided to give it a try. The cafe had a lovely decor and a nice/central location, however the food was disappointing (and pricy).
I ordered a salad with a fancy name yet what arrived was just a bowl full of lettuce (from a grocery ready-made pack) with very little oil, some seeds and a huge half-melting piece of camembert cheese. All of that for 6,5 euro!
I understand that the restaurant needs to make money but it should at least make basic effort to crate something worth the price. I left disappointed and I am not planning...
