I used to be a big fan of AquaCity Poprad, I used to recommend it to all my friends when they travelled to The region. Especially Their Wellness. It offers a lot of steam and dry saunas, Infrared sauna as well as a private pool and a jacuzzi. Ideal for an evening calm down after a hike in high tatras! However my recent visit has left a very bitter aftertaste and I will no longer recommend this facility to my friends. Not even to my worst enemies.
MINORS IN WELLNESS (-3 STARS) While most “Naked” wellness centres refuse entry to anyone under 18, This wellness have “a strict No Entry for 12 year olds and under” (according to the signage on the entryway). However while visiting this time, I counted around 9 kids who were definitely not even 12. There was a 3 year old in the pool! It is already extremely uncomfortable to be in a “No Swimsuit” zone when there are Underaged around. I had to be covered in saunas because of minors as little as 4years old being present. One thing is the health risks the parents of the kids are ignoring, another is the discomfort these kids are causing. It is not possible to relax when there is a kid talking loudly in the sauna about wanting to go to the slide, another one Playing with the shower head and three more running around the area. This used to be a place for a peaceful relaxation and now it turned to a Playground. And the staff seem to not even care. They handed sheets to the kids with a big smile and did not even ask parents for age or warn them that it might be inappropriate or dangerous for the child to be present. But at least the staff smiled , unlike the:
COCKY RECEPTIONIST (-1 STAR) The Day before The Receptionist at the till was rude when I tried to Enter the aqua park 45 minutes before closure. I was accommodated in the hotel and I wanted to go for a quick swim. Instead I got an annoyed lady Laughing while telling me to “maybe try the luck tomorrow”. Not that big of a deal, it was almost closed, sure. Maybe she had a bad day or really wanted to go home. However, there are nicer ways of saying it to someone, especially when they are accommodated there. She is the front facing customer service employee and Being cocky is not the way to provide the service I was used to here.
THE RESTAURANT WATER WITH LEMON PRICE GREW OVERNIGHT. 😂 BUT FOOD AND STUDENT STAFF WAS EXCELLENT. (+1 Star) while not a big issue. It is proof of how disorganised this place really is. One day a small jug of lemon water is 1.80€ and the next evening it was 2€. I thought the water would be included in a Hotel Dinner, but no. The staff appears to be culinary college students, they worked hard and provided exceptional service given their age. It might have been a mistake and other than the funny story, the dinner and breakfast was great, both food and Service, if anything, it Saved Aquacity Poprad from Getting only a one star rating.
IN SUMMARY: Wellness Is not about relax anymore but about avoiding kids, the receptionist thinks she’s the Queen and the restaurant has great food and the staff is professional. Lemon water was 1.80€ and...

Read moreWhere do I even start… On the first day, check-in was painfully slow. There were 3–4 people in front of us and only one person working at reception.
They asked us what time we wanted to have dinner — either from 5:30 to 6:30 PM or from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. A strange system, but fine, we picked the later one so we could swim a bit longer. We showed up around 7 PM, but there was barely any food left even though dinner was supposed to go until 8 PM. And what was left was terrible. No waiter even bothered to come and ask if we wanted anything to drink — and we were thirsty. There were no desserts either, nothing to choose from, and this was at 7 PM!
The next day, there was a training session in the kids’ pool, and the only other pool opened at 12:00 PM. That’s just ridiculous. The wellness area only opened at 2 PM every day — also ridiculous.
We thought we’d try the earlier dinner slot the next evening. That was slightly better, maybe 2/5 at best — edible, but not good. The lemonade was basically lemon-flavored water. Fantastic. (Not really.)
Breakfast was okay, nothing to complain about there.
But the third dinner… that was the final straw. The same soup for the third day in a row. The duck soup had literally nothing in it — no meat, no flavor, nothing. We arrived around 6:40 PM (so not even late this time), and the sweet potato purée was completely inedible — I had to spit it out. There was supposed to be some fresh pasta dish, but it was already gone by 7 PM, even though dinner runs until 8. That’s disgusting. They insist on these “two dining slots,” yet they can’t even provide enough food for either one.
And dessert? Get this — whipped cream with a single piece of fruit on top. That’s it. That’s dessert?!
This hotel absolutely does not deserve 4 stars. The hair dryer is useless, you can’t even properly dry your hair. If you ask for water, they give you tap water.
And seriously — the wellness area opens at 2 PM?! Because of that, it’s always packed — I waited 20 minutes just to get in.
We were there with a child, but everything closes by 8 PM. The big playhouse closes at 7:30, and of course, that’s written nowhere.
We had a room on the first floor, but to get to dinner, we had to go up to the third floor and then back down to the first. What a joke.
I’ve stayed at several wellness hotels before, but this one was far below expectations — truly...
