I took my 8 year old daughter for sushi tonight at Wason sushi and it was a memorable experience for both of us.
The restaurant had a welcoming and warm atmosphere that was perfect for our night out in this cold and rainy weather. The seating arrangement gave us enough privacy to enjoy ourselves , and the staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home especially my daughter. She definitely enjoyed herself and also made sure to not only entertain me, but everyone around her. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Jason was attentive without being intrusive. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, which was a big plus. The sushi was outstanding. The sushi rolls we ordered were beautifully presented and tasted even better than they looked. My daughter especially loved the Salmon roses. I appreciated the variety of options, from the traditional sushi to more creative rolls. The fish was fresh, and the rice was seasoned just right.
As a parent, I always look for places that are family-friendly but still offer a sophisticated dining experience. This restaurant struck the perfect balance. My daughter enjoyed the experience as much as I did, and it’s not always easy to find a place that satisfies both adults and children. I would highly recommend Wason for a family outing, especially if you're looking to introduce your kids to sushi. We both left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. We will definitely be returning!
Thank you so much for your...
Read moreI am so shocked with the quality of the food at Wason, a few years back Wason used to be our date night restaurant and the service and quality used to be excellent, we decided recently to go back there and have a date night, expecting the same quality and service we used to get back then.
Unfortunately this was not the case, the salmon seemed to be old some of the food was cold, we did not even get Wasabi and ginger when we sat down which we normally used to get, we needed to ask for it. On top of it all there was more rice in the inside of the California roll then avo and salmon and some of the sushi had the taste of cleaning chemicals.
We were so put off by the food that we decided to leave and as we left both me and my fiance became very nauseas and by the time we arrived home my fiancé face was swollen and he started to run a fever, had headaches, vomitted and felt dizzy. We went to the pharmacy and they told him that he had food poisoning.
It is sad to say this but Wason let us down and their service is not the...
Read moreHow on earth this place gets such high ratings, I do not know. In fact, it's because of the high ratings that we decided to do a big spread one night as take away. What a disaster! All of the sushi that contained prawn, had prawns that weren't deveined. The one that contained tempura prawns was raw. The remaining sushi was a mixture of mushy rice or dodgy cuts of salmon. Then the pork steamed buns. They would have been nice had the cook not dropped the boiling hot buns straight into a plastic container. Now all you were tasting was plastic. On the mains side, the egg fried rice was soaked in oil and the sweet and sour pork was a joke. The large balls only contained very small pieces of pork. Two of the balls didn't even have meat in it. The only thing that was ordered that was nice were the vegetable spring rolls, but judging by their look and taste I think they buy that in, in any case. Wasted R600 on poorly executed food. Give this place...
