The fish has always been great and the staff really friendly; except for two female staff members. I hv watched these 2 ladiesliterally moving the bigger pieces to the back so that they may serve ME the smaller ones - out of frustration I actually confronted the one lady abt this one day - she turned yellow and couldn't deny it (they probably thought I couldn't see wht they had bn doing all along). One of these 2 ladies suddenly develops a cough at the pont when she starts sprinkling salt n vinegar, and will deliberately cough straight into MY order. This one will come from whatever end of the shop she was working in before I came in, just to serve ME! She knows me very well because I'm a predictable regular. (I need to know what it is about me that causes this - could this be about race - black vs black as we would say in the new SA?) I paid for my order and left it with her the last time; and never went back again because I wasn"t sure how I'd react to another repeat of this. I have tolerated it for too long bcz I didnt wish to cause a scene. This is a real pity bcz the owner and majority of the staff are really great people. But the thing is I don't know what these two women...
Read moreI couldn't be more disappointed by my experience at the fisheries. Growing up the fisheries was known for the good food and service but after I ate from them yesterday I can surely say they would never see me again. I opened the snoek and chips parcel and immediately I could feel that this food is cold. The fish was soggy at the bottom, and chips had no salt nor vinegar on it. Needless to say that it was a complete waste of time and money buying food that wasn't even fresh.. and don't get me started on those dry rolls that caused my colleague's teeth to come out as he bit into one of them.
Safe to say, they won't be...
Read moreSad to say but the quality for ones hard earned money has disappeared like calamari on my Gatsby bought today.
I was promised 200g of calamari on the Gatsby R125 which I thought was enough after hearing extra calamari would cost R79.99. Im not one for not paying for what I get but in this case I didn't even get my 200g of calamari, just a large chiproll drenched in white sauce that taste like watered down tartar sauce.
I usually am quite thorough and fair with my reviews (check my profile), this however really disappointed us. I will be sharing this dissatisfaction with the rest of my surrounding community after no phone was answered at the shop
