A slight disappointment with our meals. I have to say that the toasted masala steak i had was tasty but the amount of steak on my toasted bread was very little and for the price we paid for our meal i felt it shocking. The meat was shredded and spread very thinly on the bread. It was so dry and it was more bread than content. The flavor was good for what I had on my bread and that was the disappointment for me. My family members who ordered the steak salomie also experienced a huge let down with their meal as the steak filling was so salty it made it quite impossible to eat. Furthermore, the venue was clean and the service was good. 30.11.2022 My family popped in here after driving through the city to see the Christmas street lights. Wow. Not much has changed since I was last here. The table tops were dirty. Open salads on the table with fruit flies sitting on it. The standard of food here is bad. I shudder to think what goes on in that kitchen. One would expect koeksisters to be lovely as I know how it should look and taste. I know a good koeksisters texture from a bad one. The koeksisters were tough and so tough one could not use a knife to cut through it. Samoosa's were okay from the tiny bit I tasted. Wow Bishmiellah should do better. I have no more words to describe the experience. I would personally never go there but I do have family members who also pop in just for the cultural experience and I happen to be with them and they always complain. This is so weird. It looks like they stuck in another era....
Read moreWhen we arrived there was no one by the door to assist we had to ask one of the workers to assist us. She then seated us while cleaning the table.
The menus was dirty anyway we then ordered our drinks and food, we recieved our drinks with dirty glasses luckily we had 3 can drinks and 1 passion fruit which I had to wipe the glass before I drank it, how do you even serve dirty glasses then I would rather just give the cans.
We then see 3 tables walk out because they take to so long to go to the people it was so embarrassing for me and I don't even work there. We waited so long for our food and when it came it was really not what I expected as this is the first time I have been to this restaurant and they are heavily over priced.
My son had a Biesmiellah burger and the chips was horrible even the roll looked like a pick n pay roll not even a seeded bun we had 2 chicken curry meals and 1 prawn curry meal it was so little we were still hungry the roti was so hot like they put it in the microwave to warm it and the rice was cold and tasteless.
To top it off we go pay our bill Infront then we see our bill is R791 they added a gratuity without even asking a 10% like how do you do something like that it is just common decency to ask prior to seating us that you charge a service fee if it is over 4 people.
Unfortunately I won't be going back it is really not what I expected and very much...

Mutton Curry - winner dish This was really good the mixing of the sly, rice and the mutton curry this tasted the best for me.
The mutton curry with the roti was also amazing a nice soft bit of a crunch like roti.
Biryani Didn't taste to bad it was sauce\bredie added to cheap rice this would have been better with basmati rice
Archar This was cold it didn't taste good I wasn't a big fan of this.
The chicken samosas with the Dhania sauce dip was also good.

Atmosphere I got confused by the entrance door we thought that the place was closed until the slide door was opened for us, there was another family who also came at the also confused in how to open the door if people are going there the first time just remember it's the 2nd sliding door.
If you are Muslim there is a prayer room there and a nearby mosque.
The waiter removed some of our plates a bit fast from the table we still had some food that we were going to finish there were hardly cutlery left to use for our malva pudding and remaining rice.
