Guys, I want to share my review and a fascinating story about the popular Origin cafe. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but in this case, only one person has ruined the whole wonderful initial impression of the cafe and its super friendly service staff, unfortunately. And I would like to draw the attention of the management to this, and also warn those who are going to go to work in this cafe THEY DO NOT HAVE ADAPTERS 🙂

But it's not even about adapters, but about attitude. The cafe was recommended to me by friends as a great and peaceful place to work. The first two times everything was fine and I visited a cafe for work, took my adapters, since not all cafes have them. I noticed that there were adapters in the room, the third time I couldn't get an adapter, but the third time the cafe was quite busy. I asked the staff if they had free adapters, they assured me that they would help me and find an adapter, I asked them to let me know, since I need to work and in general, if there are no free adapters, then I will quickly eat and leave. After 20 minutes or more, no one came back to me, although I had already managed to get and eat breakfast and my equipment was discharged. I went down to the staff and asked if there was any news, I was ready to wait on the ground floor so they wouldn't have to come up to me. It turns out that this case was on the manager's side and he did not give an answer, although the staff clarified with him. After I was waiting downstairs, the manager came up to me and said rather irritably that there were no adapters for me. I've been waiting for this answer for 20 minutes 🙂 I asked what I could do (for example, I said I could move to the first floor for a while, where there are free plug) and the manager irritably replied to me that "nothing, you can go and buy an adapter, it's not my job at all."

After that, I paid the bill and left, the excellent waiters apologized, but I said that it wasn't even about the adapter, but that the manager was rude. But the manager certainly didn't even think to apologize 🙂 Guys, can you somehow address your guests more amicably, especially foreigners who form their impression of the country based on such details as a cafe? You even organize tastings for tourists on the second floor. Why do you allow managers to communicate like this? Unfortunately, I will not recommend this cafe to my friends and my fellow citizens in Cape Town, despite the fact that the waiters and the food...

Origin Coffee Roasting ☕✨

I’ve been to Origin Coffee Roasting multiple times over the past six months, and here are my impressions and recommendations if you’re planning to visit:

✅ A paradise for coffee lovers – Origin offers a wide selection of beans and brewing methods, including Cold Brew, French Press, and Americano from the espresso machine. If, like me, you prefer a strong coffee with low acidity, I highly recommend telling the staff your coffee preferences – they’ll guide you to the perfect choice. There’s also a small coffee tasting experience, which I absolutely recommend!

✅ Take the coffee experience home – I once bought beans for my French Press and had them ground on-site to the perfect grind size. Great option if you want to enjoy quality coffee at home!

🥗 Great breakfast & light meals – If you’re looking for a healthy, high-protein meal, go for the green salad with feta, tomatoes, and chicken. The dressing is very light, and the chicken comes with a delicious dip. I also highly recommend the veggie omelet – perfect for a protein-packed start to the day!

🥐 Sweet treats for indulgence – If you’re in the mood for something sweet, you’ll love the freshly baked croissants, pastries, and sweet rolls. There’s something for every craving!

👨‍🍳 Open kitchen & homemade goodness – The open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs and bakers at work, making everything fresh in-house. A great touch that adds to the experience!

💯 Friendly & efficient service – The staff is super helpful, fast, and welcoming. Always a pleasure!

If you love great coffee and delicious breakfasts/light lunches, Origin Coffee Roasting is a must-visit in...

Origins is truly a unique almost bespoke coffee experience, and everything I had been searching for coffee-wise in Cape Town. I have tried about 20 different coffee houses in this beautiful city and they were all wonderful for different reasons. Origins is however in a league of its own. First, the variety of coffees were from different regions of the world including Tanzania, Kenya, Mexico and thus offered differing notes, as well as different washing methods. Secondly and most importantly, the brewing methods on offer were delightful and included my two favorites: aero-press and V-60. I got really excited when I saw these. Third, I am so used to quality coffeehouses (in NYC) selling superb coffee with subpar baked goods, not here! The pastries, cakes and food were phenomenal, absolutely breathtaking in both aesthetic and taste. Their orange cake blew me away and their matcha cheesecake was very well-done, not too sweet and paired well with my Kenyan pour-over. The coffee was extraordinary! Absolutely exquisite and among the best coffees I have had in recent years (including in NYC, Amsterdam, London and Lisbon). Its really world-class. If I wanted to be a barista in Cape Town, it would be here. Im almost sad I can't spend more time in this gorgeous city so that I may try all the coffees and methods on offer. Oh excellent tea choices too. Fourth and final point of excellence is on service. Warm, kind, happy and hospitable. Everything one would want in a lovely space such as this. I wanted for nothing. Thank...
