Our dinner reservation at Libertino was made a week in advance for February 8th at 19:00, providing the restaurant ample time to accommodate our booking. Prior to the evening, we called to confirm that there would be no corkage fee, and this was confirmed by the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with flatbreads for the table. However, there was a significant delay of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before menus were provided and our orders were taken. Furthermore, it took around 45 minutes to an hour for a simple drink order, a can of Coke, to be served.

The first dishes started arriving at 22:45, but unfortunately, several orders were missing. During this time, one of the restaurant managers was seen eating in front of customers, while none of the guests—including our table—had yet received their food. Throughout this period, there was no communication or apology from the staff regarding the slow service or any updates on our orders.

When we inquired about the missing meals, a staff member assured us that the restaurant would cover the cost of our food as a goodwill gesture, which we appreciated. However, after another 30-minute wait for the remaining dishes, when we requested the bill, we were surprised to find that we were still charged for the meal. Upon querying this with the manager, he abruptly informed us that we had ordered too late and then walked away.

While the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and the food was decent, with some dishes being enjoyable and others rather bland, the service we received was among the poorest we’ve experienced in...

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were captivated by the sheer beauty of the ambiance. The atmosphere exudes elegance and charm—every corner carefully curated to create a stunning, welcoming space. The lighting was warm, the décor tasteful, and the entire setting created an experience that felt truly special.

The staff were equally exceptional. From the friendly helpers who greeted us with genuine smiles, to the attentive waiters who made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal, we felt so well taken care of. They were kind, patient, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening.

A special shout-out must go to Leon, our waiter for the evening. Leon was absolutely phenomenal. He took the time to walk us through the menu, explaining each dish in detail and helping us navigate the choices so we could make the best selections for our tastes. His recommendations were spot-on, and his advice on pairing dishes was incredibly helpful. Leon’s warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism turned our dinner into an experience we won’t soon forget.

The food itself? Absolutely delicious—each bite a testament to the care and skill in the kitchen.

All in all, this was a dining experience that felt luxurious, yet inviting. We left feeling satisfied, cared for, and already excited to return. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for not just a meal, but a true...

An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Libertino Last night at Libertino was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. For the starter, I had the Charred Artichokes, and let me tell you, they were divine. The smoky flavor paired perfectly with the tender texture of the artichokes, creating a simple yet delicious appetizer that left me wanting more. Moving on to the main course, I had the Homemade Truffle Fettuccine. It was absolutely amazing! The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the truffle flavor was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming. Every bite was like a little piece of heaven. Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying the pizza, and it did not disappoint. The crust was crisp and perfectly charred, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible meal. Finally, the dessert was the true highlight of the evening — the Tiramisu. Hands down, the best tiramisu I have ever had. The balance of flavors and the creamy texture made it a showstopper. I can confidently say that it is the best tiramisu in the world so far. Overall, my experience at Libertino was unforgettable. From start to finish, the meal was exceptional, and the service was equally impressive. It was a memorable day, and I can't wait to return for another round of...

We visited Libertino as two girlfriends for a Saturday night dinner and had such a wonderful experience. The service was very attentive, and our server Divine was amazing; she made great recommendations throughout the evening. We started with the grilled artichokes and the salad of the day, which happened to be a pomegranate citrus salad with prawns. The salad was incredible—fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. The artichokes were decent but could have used a bit more flavor, acidity, and dressing to complement the rocket salad. For our mains, we had the salmon risotto and the ravioli soup. Both were delicious, but the ravioli soup stood out with its amazing peppery flavor that was bold without being too spicy. Per our server’s recommendation, we finished with the tiramisu, and it did not disappoint—it was the perfect ending to the meal. I also enjoyed a glass of Chenin Blanc, which paired perfectly with the food and is a must-try while visiting South Africa. Overall, an excellent evening—attentive service, great flavors, and a cozy, lively atmosphere. Highly recommend!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food and service absolutely on point, atmosphere cosy and unique, this place will be here for a loooong and successful run! Unique: - most main dishes are available at a (generous) half-portion size at half-price (R90-R110). My picture shows our 4 half-mains, all of them tasting incredible! - red color-theme throughout the store - every bathroom should have disco lights 🪩 - we got seated right next to the fireplace. Perfect in winter. - vegetarian-pescatarian food without being obtrusive about it. Only potential improvement to this 'hidden secret': the entrance isn't easy to spot after dark, a friendly waiter of a neighboring restaurant pointed us to the right door 😀 One of the best dining experiences in my 18 years of visiting, dining and living in Cape Town 💛😍🇿🇦
