My wife and I were looking for a good cup of coffee, espresso to be exact. We were advised to visit this place yet we were unsure with the lack of reviews however we took the chance.
We were positively surprised with the building, the large steam punk style statue outside was truly African and unlike anything we had ever seen. The heritage building was just that. A modern revamp while keeping it's own integrity. We sat outside on the repurposed seating with a peaking sea view in the midst.
We ordered two espressos. A double and a single. The house blend was a very good coffee however the single espresso held no crema and tasted of an extended pour. Present sediments were irregular in the coffee and may be due to worn machinery as consistency between espresso's were slightly different.
The food was very good. A simple, non pretentious clean menu. Nothing fussy and typical of a great café. We had the smashed avo on toast and mushroom on toast. Both delivered on flavour and texture and was visually pleasant. Lacking a slight pinch of salt but that was personal preference.
Overall the staff were friendly, the venue was interesting and was averagely priced, a recommendation for all who pass by. Best of all the the bulk amount of...

He called us back and made a plan for inside seating. We ordered hot drinks. Chai Latte is one of the best I've had. Creamy and smooth. Our food order was Cape Malay Lamb Roti which was filling, spicy and very yummy. Excellent value for money. Ave. R110 per head including a drink.
Waitresses are needing more experience. Cutlery had not been wiped down effectively. Had to get up to change as she did not notice our signals.
Really liked the paperless bill system.
Highly recommended. Will...
Read moreI recently revisited my favorite breakfast hotspot, and to my disappointment, it fell short of expectations. The once vibrant and diverse menu has now dwindled to a limited selection, lacking creativity and flavor. I ordered the chicken mayo sandwich, only to find it lacking in chicken and accompanied by cold, uninspiring chips. The absence of fresh fruit juices was disheartening, leaving no refreshing options. Moreover, the service standards have notably declined, with poor waiter etiquette adding to the overall disappointment. It's unfortunate to see such a decline in quality, as this restaurant used to be a go-to destination for food...
