The only reason for giving 4* instead of 5 is any visitors do need to be aware that this has become a dangerous part of the city. Only visit in the daytime and keep your wits about you.
And Do NOT drive through the rest of Central towards Parliament street when you leave.., This has now become a gang owned territory. Rather go back to the main road towards the coast. Read moreWe got there hoping to get the self guided walking tour at the visitor center, but we were told that they didn't have it any more. However, one security guard offered to let us up into the lighthouse, and another named Anthony gave us a tour of the grounds and snapped many pictures as well as giving us some context for the site. Be warned that this is a high crime area, so it is advised not to have valuables on hand and to not overly use phones or cameras. Tourists should also not be there after 4pm.
