The Athenaeum. Its a lovely building to host events, from theater shows to formal events. This venue is full of culture, history and South African heritage. Iam proud to say that ive attended many events at this venue, the standard and maintains of the place is remarkable. There is also a little in-house cafe, it has warm and friendly staff. Which would be wonderful to have to running full-time. If only it got more support for the businesses arround there. This might change soon. But its a wonderful venue that proudly holds up SA heritage and celebrates...
Read moreThe look and feel of the place is excellent. As you enter the premises you're immediately offered great art and entertainment from the designs and sculptures in and around the building. I'm yet to see a show that doesn't live up to that standard. I love how they've modernised the building yet have kept those cute gates and wooden floors for that vintage look and feel. The main actor, Gareth Bain, delivered a superb performance. He memorized a lot of lines and delivered them flawlessly. The only drawback was the lack of snack options. I think they could improve their sales by offering some fast food items during the intermission, such as hotdogs...
