Sanook Eatery — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Sadly my experience yesterday was exceptionally unpleasant. Being a hot day, I initially ordered a milkshake which oddly arrived to me at room temperature which I found very strange. I then ordered a burger with fries and asked the waiter for an ice-cold coke (as I was struggling to deal with the room temp milkshake but made no complaint about this) but the coke arrived warm too. Had it not been for ice cubes in a glass to pour it over, I would not have been able to drink it. Again, I just proceeded to carry on with my experience but sadly, halfway through eating my burger I bit into what either seemed to be a hard bone shard or piece of plastic as I heard what sounded like my tooth chipping. I spat it out and showed the waiter. I politely told him I did not feel comfy to eat the rest of the meal and that he could bring the bill as I just wanted to leave at this point. As a business owner and someone who worked in the service industry in my past, nothing about this experience made sense but I still tipped around 30% and still came back 5 mins later to order a takeaway pizza for the guys at AppleBerry who had fixed my laptop. I had plans to bring my mates over on Friday night whom arrive from JHB but I'm not so sure anymore and highly doubt I'll ever be coming back...

The most amazing rustic eatery you can experience in East London. Perfect now in Winter with the smell of wood burning in Pizza Ovens, the aroma of the most amazing tantalizingly aromatic smells which makes ones mouth water when reading the menu which takes you to the place of the cuisine. Amazing friendly and professionally dressed waiters and so nice to see the management interact with clients in such a friendly manner. One tip please book in advance or you may not be able to sit inside. The outside experience is just as amazing with the cool air outside and gas heaters creating a different family vibe outside. You never alone with waiter constantly by your side and music from inside also playing outside. This is definitely one of my favorite cullenary experiences in East London. Try this experience as you will never be...

I am very pleased for those of you who have had an awesome experiences, unfortunately i have given Sanoeks 2 tries and both times i was extremely disappointed in the service. On my second visit after waiting 40 minutes, the steaks were underdone and the manager offered us complimentary desserts which was very commending of him but there were three of us and each of our desserts arrived at different times, the first person had finished their dessert when the second arrived, the second person was half way through their dessert when the third arrived.....you can't leave ice cream standing until all are served..... I also found their plates to be very bland, the food was just plonked on, no little side garnish as per other restaurants. Sorry Sanoeks i give you a two for taste, it was good but you won't be...
