Went to have a light meal on Friday the at the Wimpy Hemingways ,20th December 2024,arrived around 15:15. Was greeted and seated by a nice lady outside. Then after about 5min, another lady came and gave me the menu and told me someone else would be serving me. I sat there waiting to be served until 16:30 with no one coming to serve me Eventually I got up and called the manager and told her what was happening and she was very nice and apologetic. The manager's name was Thandie, told her they need to fix their way of doing things cause I told her this was my first time going to a restaurant and coming out after almost 2 hours without being served . Read moreI get the feeling that some of these Wimpys are taking chances. First of all, we weren't even acknowledged at the door. We grabbed our own menus and sat down. After 10 minutes, I had to ask for someone to please assist us with an order. We eat at Wimpy a lot and every time, without fail, my husband orders a double thick lime milkshake. On Friday morning he did the same and received an insipid milkshake, the glass wasn't even full, and no sprinkles or cream on top. When I questioned that, I was told that they NEVER do that for just a double thick milkshake and yet, we were charged an extra R3 for the double thick that does not reflect on the menu. I needed to pay with my card and I was told tips are cash only. I do not carry cash. At this point, I was feeling awkward by this whole checkout experience. I felt like I had done something wrong.
