Edit on Review:
After posting my initial review PoBoys Cowey Park, the marketing team put me in touch with the owner. He was very calm and spoke to me with respect over the phone. He listened to my experience at this branch and explained where he could. When it came to the taste of the food he asked me to give them another shot and I went through and got another sandwich. The Kentucky, this time around, just the way it was meant to be, the way I remembered and the way it should always be. Fresh bun, thick juicy crispy strips, with that banger of a louisiana sauce. Absolutely delicious!!!
I suppose it was an off day in the kitchen, but nonetheless the owner, cares about his customers to reach out, meet me in person and make things right, he believes in his food and it shows.
Thank you again, for putting things right and for putting my tummy at ease!
I will be back for more PoBoys Goodness!!!
Initial Review:
I use to visit Po Boys frequently when they first opened and was craving their Kentucky sandwhich. We arrive to the most laziest and unenthusiastic employee I have ever come across in my life. She took our order of the kentucky sandwhich, to which I was surprised the standard no longer comes with chips so I added that and my wife ordered the chicken strips and chips. Waited almost 30 mins for the food and when the boxes arrived I was in shock. The smaller box contained the sandwhich which was much smaller than I remember it to be. The chicken strips in the sandwhich was skimpish and the sauce was terrible. Nothing like I remembered this sadnwhich to be. I sat there with utter disappointment and frustration whilst eating. The chicken strips and chips were also subpar and not how it used to be.
It seems some establishments like these, tend to lose interest when they become popular and make a decent turnover, which eventually leads to poor service and poor quality food. Increased prices and reduced portions because people start to realise that the business or the food is not how it used to be, and this is really sad as halaal venues that specialise in a specific kind of food is hard to come by, especially when it was done right and now, they just...
Read moreThe Place was easy to find And when we got there, the service was amazing. The person serving us was friendly and menu helpful.
The drinks options I loooved because they had Fehmz Mocktails which are local handcrafted drinks. Proudly South African 🇿🇦 I was so excited about that and they tasted amaaazing. Flavourful and no alcohol.
The food was delicious. Loooved the sandwiches, we had the Texan Steak and Philly Cheese. If you live cheese Def order the Philly Cheese and if you're a flavour person like myself, The Texan Steak is great
The chips were just how I like em. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and well seasoned. My fave of the sides were the fried sesame chicken and the little pockets with meat, the fried ball was hot for me.
Overall experience....
Read moreHonestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The ladies working at Po Boys Durban were unbelievably lazy and downright rude. They acted like serving customers was a massive inconvenience and barely acknowledged anyone. No smiles, no service, no effort — just attitude.
To make things worse, I waited over an HOUR for my food. No update, no apology, nothing. It’s like they just didn’t care. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t even worth the wait — average at best.
If you value your time and want to be treated with basic respect, avoid this place. Absolutely...
