This was an amazing 1st visit for my wife and my 1year old son. The food was incredible! The vibe was great! The service was awesome, Pretty was so helpful and TK the Manager checked in and was so friendly to my son and interacted with care. It made us feel welcome! The food was crazy good and I can’t wait to go again! We bought a few pastries for home and they are delicious! My only preference would be that the Pastel de nate freezo drink does not contain banana, it was an odd addition in my opinion. No shade on the chefs and recipe design, but, it was more like a banana shake than a custard type and it was a missed opportunity. I’d have it be the Patel de nate flavour present and have crispy bits on top perhaps. This is the only thing I can highlight which was not for me. Other than that I loved the place and if their quality and pricing can stay consistent I’ll be there again! Value...

We are outraged and disappointed at the poor quality of hygiene standards at Bakehouse Hazelwood! We just had the mushroom on sourdough sandwich and found hard black flakes in the food. Upon enquiry we discovered that the black flakes were residue from the other grill that landed in the food while they were cleaning it. How did the plate leave the kitchen?! Isn’t it carcinogenic? What are the health implications? How do you disrespect your customers to serve such food to them? Despite attempts to obtain proper answers from the Manager, Prosper, and the owner who was present, no satisfactory answers were forthcoming. It appears that the owner did not regard our concern as serious enough to address it with us directly. I am truly disgusted! Food: the breakfast is great, although one should read carefully how the breakfasts are prepared and presented. Sometimes the meals do not meet expectations but are nonetheless appetising. Service: great service despite the restaurant being full of people. We were served continuously throughout the service and the waiters were very accommodating. Setting: the restaurant can be on the cramped side, especially when it is full. The restaurant however creates a good impression of a place of refuge from the busy street, but also has an openness to it. Parking is an issue. Be prepared to park a distance away and walk to the restaurant. If you like freshly baked goods that are expertly prepared, this is the place to come to in Pretoria, hands down...
