I was utterly disappointed with my visit to the restaurant on January 20, 2024. I have visited this restaurant plenty of times but I will not be coming back due to the rude attitude of the female waitresses. Specifically, on January 20th, server 48, she had dark, curly hair and was white. Very passive-aggressive.
I ordered the Spanish meatballs, which were not cooked properly and sent them back. The waitress said that she would give it to the chef to taste. A few minutes later, she comes back and says that the chef did not taste it but she told us in a very aggressive manner that it was cooked and only then informed us that there was pork in it. When we said we don't eat pork due to religious reasons, she failed to inform us about it in the first place. We told her to take it back, as we were not going to eat undercooked food.
When the bill came, she left the Spanish meatballs on the receipt and when we asked why, she said, "Normally, the customer informs us what they don't eat," which is ridiculous because we did not even eat the meatballs and we sent them back immediately. She refused to take it off the bill and said she would speak to the manager.
The manager came and was very polite and informed us that there was no pork and that he would take it off, as well as apologising to us. Completely different from the female waitress.
I was put off with this whole experience and will not be returning as the food quality dropped because the hummus was runny and there was not enough sauce in our baked feta. These female waitresses really have an attitude problem because when we ordered something else, they just left it and walked away. It seems like they are only polite to the older people because they know they...
Read moreGreat variety and flavour, friendly staff. Busy though.
I have always had great experiences at Culture Club. I have however known a few people to have slight errors with bookings and being left somewhat out in the cold after making a booking and then finding their table no longer available. Hopefully these sorts of kinks are easily worked out. I have booked two or so days in advance and had no problems. They are busy, so I definitely recommend booking sooner rather than later.
That said however, even in mid winter they go to great lengths to put heating outside and make the experience better for those seated outside.
The real draw card though, is found in the food and drink. The drinks, especially the cocktails are very well crafted. Even the non-alcoholic cocktails are well worth a try.
The food is greatly varied and I definitely recommend coming with a group if possible. Order several nibble dishes and a couple of more substantial dishes and you can't go wrong. From simple dishes like the sautéed green beans to the delicious Portuguese chicken skewers, the food is simple yet extremely tasty.
Hopefully the Culture Club has a long future, perhaps even opening up additional...
Read moreStarters were very nice and unique. Insanely disappointed when it came to the main meal. Ordered the coco-seafood curry gnocchi. Fish pieces and muscles were off. Raised this with the waiter who came back and said "Sorry about that. The guys in the kitchen also noted something was off." So, if you noticed that, then why the he'll serve it????! You cannot serve off fish (or anything off for that matter) to a customer, especially if she is bloody pregnant and now has the risk of getting food poisoning. Called for the manager (a child on her 20's) and stated the issue to her. Her response " Oh, sorry about that. I'll have a chat with them." ...You cannot see the major health risk you pose??? Shocked...!
During the eating experience, you could have a bite without a swarm of flies attacking you... Completely ruined the vibe from the start... You know it's summer, you work with food, and have customers. Why not ensure you have the necessary things (like insect repelling candles) in place so one can enjoy one's dining experience?
Culture Club won't be seeing us again or receive any recommendations...
