Dear Cheese Louise Social Club Team,
I have to start by saying that your service was absolutely top-notch! The staff was on the ball in a way I’ve rarely experienced, quick, friendly, and completely on it. I truly hope this level of service stays consistent because, honestly, it’s the best I’ve had in the Hazelwood area. Huge kudos to your team!
Now, about the atmosphere, there’s a lot to love, but I do think the volume of the music could be dialed down a notch. The music selection was great, but combined with the natural echo of the space and the lively crowd, it started to feel more like a sports bar than a cozy dining experience. At one point, I was tempted to ask if it could be turned down a bit, just to make conversation easier.
On to the food, this is where I felt a little let down. With all the hype, I was expecting something truly special, but the pizza didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It was so thin that I had to eat it with a knife and fork, which took away the joy of what pizza should be, something you grab, share, and enjoy with your hands. I get that high-quality ingredients come at a cost, but the portion-to-price ratio didn’t feel quite right. It almost felt like the pizzas were trying too hard to be fancy rather than just being satisfying.
I really wanted to love every part of my experience, and there’s so much potential here. With some tweaks, I think Cheese Louise could be the go-to spot. Looking forward to seeing how the restaurant evolves, I’ll definitely be back to see how things shape up!
Update: 4 July 2025 I've been back since my last visit, and I'm happy to say the food has improved. This time, the pizza was much sturdier, I could actually enjoy it with my hands without any mess. A definite upgrade from the previously...
Read moreIt was a disappointing experience. The service was lacking. Our evening started off with them not having reserved our table for 12 after we called and booked the table. Then we were given only one menu between 12 people and when we asked for more we were told that there is not enough menus. However after persistently asking we received 4.
We were seated right under a speaker and the music was so loud we could not hear one another. When we kindly asked if they can turn it down we were just told no. We then decided, let's close the sliding door and it helped to muffle the sound.
We waited for about 1 hour and 15 mins for our food. We were starving and no apologies or excuses where made for the delayed service. I will give it to them the pizza dough was really really good.
When one of us asked if we can have chilly and garlic on the side of their pizza they were told no, the kitchen is too busy. However when their pizza arrived it did not have any of the 3 toppings she asked to have added. When she then complained they suddenly brought the toppings as sides.
Overall it was not great and pizzas are expensive but they are only half way covered in toppings.
We would not...
Read moreWas not a great experience at all. We expected good quality food and service and atmosphere like all the other restaurants in this area, but this was not the case.
Waitress forgot drinks order and I had to go call her, as she disappeared.
When we wanted to order, she tried to remember the order and then stopped us so that she can fetch a paper and pen to write it down.
The pizza: Some were smaller than others. The base was so thin. Was impossible to eat with your hands as all the toppings would just simply fall off. Had to eat with a knife and fork. Overcooked. Some toppings were burnt. Some of the toppings were minimal.
When we entered, the music volume was a bit loud inside and we asked to be seated outside. It was fine at first, but then they turned the music volume up. We could not hear each other. They also refused to turn it down.
We also had to find out that outside is a smoking area. So you therefore can't sit outside in this restaurant if you are a non-smoker.
This is more of a sportsbar type restaurant and not comparible to any of the other restaurants...
