I was at a Stork tea.As a guest. It cost the host a fortune for the lousiest food platters you can imagine with a result that no one ate anything! Temperature there sitting back exit of kitchen one side carpark on other side temperature went to 39 degrees. One plate was pre spread half bran muffins with underdone soggy banana bread and hard red heart shaped cake things tasted hideous.Not exaggerating it really tasted very bad.The second platter was old stale ciabatta with a dollop of chicken mayo horrid tasting, they used the dark unsavory chicken parts, some was ciabatta cheap Rama margarine with wilted slices of cucumber, some rough cut egg dry just spread on the ciabatta,old wilted tomatoes it looked like they used the old tomatoes,it was a embarrassing thing to watch these platters being brought in. Lastly a platters of really unedible quiches, they looked really unappetizing I am honest here even when we all departed not one woman even wanted to take any home this unsavory it looked and was! The venue given was disgusting it was at the back door of a very smelly noisy kitchen uneven walking surface it was extremely hot cars parked around us made this spot even hotter, a huge dissapointment I really think the Restaurant must refund every cent. What is worse was to find large other sir conditioned areas open but you put this table s 8 month pregnant eoman there on uneven durface kitchen backdoor uncomfortable hot WHY NOT GIVE YOUR BETTER AREA!!!What is really really sad is that the service was so poor hot jugs orange juice warm champagne and a Stork tea not something you can " repeat" so the memory ruined forever. Someone has to come and close this really bad place down. Save mankind save all future souls from ever booking here!!! Read moreTotally under impressed. The venue is nice with the view into the treetops, but the service was completely lacking! We phoned in advance 3 days earlier to book because of the good reviews but the restaurant does not take bookings. Had to wait in long que for 30 mins and was then allocated a seat on the outside some distance from the restaurant. Waited for waiter for 20 mins but no one came even after we walked down and made them aware that there was no service. We rejoined the que and when we eventually made it to the front we were told that they are going to close the gate. We were still contemplating when another waiter came and escorted us to a table. The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. The waiters were trying their best but the poor people were completely overwhelmed. Our drinks were cold as well as the food. The starters were brought with the main course...completely cold and soggy. (We ordered the halloumi and jalapeno poppers). We arrived at the venue at 10h00 and only left at 14h30 because of all the wait and delays. It was a special occassion and we therefor did not make a scene and tried to make the best of the situation. The burgers were tasty, even though they were cold. The chips was off course not tasty due to the fact that it seems they were sitting out for a long time. Read moreWe like the location 5 stars Friendly staff at the bakery. After New Year's Eve, we drove back from a short holiday, and my husband suggested buying some of the pepper steak pies. Hard pastry as a rock, flat ,underbaked, and really raw on the bottom. We ate them as we were quite hungry.
We had previously from the bakery custard cake with molded strawberry on top of it. I told the bakers and expected some sort of apology from the owner. Anycase, it happened already twice, and after seeing quite some unhappy reviews, I thought I might share our experience hopefully in a constructive way .
If you take the eisban, it is really dry, not worth it, and probably reheated . At such prices, one expects quality and not the above. If you go for supper and you aren't a smoker, it can be a challenge. the best seats are under the tress ( smoking area), while on the restaurant level, in "non-smoking area", you will have to endure all that smoke instead of enjoying the surrounds which are really beautiful.
We had next to us parties with people doing vape in non-smoking area. Very noisy, shouting, we just waited to have some supper and leave asap
