My wedding was on 8 Dec 2018
Very dissapointed in Casa Toscana They did not gave me the 5 star treatment or service at all.
The Friday 7 December 2018 I was booked into my room. Without any Coffee or Milk at all. No drinks in the fridge as promised. The dusbins was still full of prevouis guest staying there before me. I was booked to get my room at 2 pm and had to wait an hour before they gave my keys to the room.
The Friday night I decorate en did my reception hall for my wedding on Saturday. Late that night Chantelle - Events Co ordinator offer me and some family members something to eat because it was late and did not had anything to eat yet. She said that she will orginize the foid for us. I did not had money at all with me . She said its on the house. Her husband also eaten with us.
The Sunday when we booked out. I received a bill for almost R400 that she put the account for Friday night on my account.... without me signing for any approval.
On 2 November I had a meeting with her and the DJ that I later find out its her husband to discuss the guest total, time schedule and music request I want to play for the day at the wedding. Chantelle did not communicate the guest tatal was less as planned. And they refuse to pay out my refund because Chantelke did not gave the final total through to accounts. And the DJ (husband) that she assure me is the best was a total disaster, did not play anything I ask for. My guest did not dance at all on my wedding
I phoned Chantelle a week before the wedding regarding back up for Load Shedding. She assured me again I dont have to worry. They have a generator on site. On my wedding day 15:00 there was load shedding. I had no electricity and my guest had to came with wet hair. I the bride had to be dressed outside the room was too dark in the room. My hair wasnt finished and had to go as is...
At the reception Chantelle was no where to be found and my sister had to organize the food serving time and during the night to make sure everything goes according to plan.
Barman at the bar kept all of my geusts change with the excuse he didnt have any change. They knew from the start it was n cash bar.
When the night was over they gave my husband a bill of R1000 that he have to pay before we are allowed in our honeymoon suite.. drinks he did not even drink...after we paid the bill so that we can go in our suite. They bring us another bill wich was much less...ans said that was his actual bill.
Casa Toscana my wedding day did not go according to plan as discussed because you did not commited to service and promises.

Read moreI have been following blou hond and Lesli advertisement post. They have what seems like lovely shows at the restaurant. However we booked a show at blou hond, and made a reservation before hand at the restaurant planning a lovely and relaxing dinner before the show.
We arrived at the restaurant 17:50 the booking was for 18:00 we were seated and the menu where brought over. The waiter was very polite and friendly. However we ordered our drinks that arrived in a few minutes and then ordered our meals, even at this stage we decided on desserts too. However we waited until 19:35 for our food to arrive at our table. The show started at 20:00 leaving us with less than 30 minutes to actually consume our meal in a rush, and then to make it in time for the show. This meant that we could not have had our dessert either.
The waiter reasured us that our food was on the way, and even suggested that he will bring it to us whilst at the show. This was not going to work as the tables at the show does not have enough space and because we were the last to drive at our table for the show. We had to sit facing backwards. If we then had to eat our meal we would have not been able to actually watch the show.
The food is expensive so one would expect high quality food and service. We would not have minded paying what we paid for the meals if it was actually worthwhile.
With a huge disappointment , we left the restaurant and our meals only half eaten to make it to the show. We will never again make a booking at the restaurant. We looked forward to the evening and had to leave feeling rushed. The waiter did try to make up for it , however it seems like this is a normal as we were not the only ones who complained.
The show was amazing and we will definitely visit Blou hond again. The first time we visited I ordered platters and they were actually nice and on time for a relaxed meal. I would highly recommend...
Read moreThe performances were very good. However, it was marketed as more theatrical than it actually is. It's simply a restaurant with live music, there isn't much of a theatrical nature to the performances. The waitresses and waiters are very talented however, it's difficult to watch the performance when they're simply ambling through the crowd instead having a central performance area.
The food was bland and not very tasty. Considering the price and the ambience of the restaurant, I expected much more and was very disappointed!
My evening with my friends was cut very short when a friend of mine (who was allergic to nuts) had ingested some almonds from the side vegetables in her meal. Our friend had to rush home to take a shot of her epi-pen before she got a sever allergic reaction.
The fact that there were nuts in the vegetables was not indicated on the menu and when we asked our waitress about it, she said "I didn't know what was in the vegetables because the kitchen staff changes the side vegetables everyday."
When we complained to the manager, she was very stand-offish and told us that she was just going to check on something in the kitchen and come back. She never apologized to us and proceeded to ignore us for 20 minutes. Eventually our waitress came back to the table and offered us a bottle of sparkling wine on-the-house as an apology. The bottle of wine was worth R45!!
I don't believe that that is an accurate apology at all. It is incredible irresponsible to not indicate that there are nuts in certain meals, especially when nuts allergies are so common nowadays! To add on to that, the fact that the manager never came back to apologize to us in-person is unacceptable!!
I would not recommend that anyone visit this restaurant. My friends and I certainly will not be...
