Had the most rude, ridiculous experience at this place. The owner seated us when arriving at the restaurant. He did see that we are party of 4 with two kids. About 15 minutes in after ordering drinks and starters, he comes to tell us that the kids should not scream and we need to keep them quiet. We were surprised as there was no noise, the only sound was coming from the humming (stimming) of my autistic child and she was not loud. After explaining to him that she is not making a noise but is stimming, he mentioned “ I don’t want to chase you away, it’s just that it is the customers that complain” and he will have to seat the people that have not yet even arrived somewhere else.(btw there were probably 2 other tables that were seated and the rest of the place was empty) He was clearly ignorant of his request in this case and had no understanding or accommodation whatsoever for such as instance. The manager then explains to us that in-fact no under 13’s are allowed. So when we asked why did they seat us or why didn’t they tell us that when we arrived - they had no response. This was the first restaurant ever that had an issue with my child humming. We have never ever experienced this previously in all the plethora of restaurants we went to in Bryanston and across the country. Filotimo Greek Taverna in Bryanston are clearly not autistic friendly and also ignorant on what this means. Will not recommend this place and will...
Read moreA Fantastic Greek Experience. From our walk through the doors we were warmly welcomed by the host and waiters. Everyone was helpful in directing us to a beautiful table near the bar area, decorated in a beautiful traditional Greek taverna style with a welcome drink to settle us in. We proceeded to diving straight into mains whilst enjoying a local Greek wine and ending our taste of Greece with traditional desserts and a freshing slice of fruit once our bill was requested. Our lovely waitress Constance was attentive and well-versed with the menu. We opted for the shared platter special along with the special of the night moussaka - tastefully made and paired with zucchini fritters on the side. I would recommend that if you are visiting in a group, the best way to the embrace this experience is to oder all the small plates and share among yourselves or even order the platters and add some sides. As for the atmosphere, the multiple areas are set like a taverna and brings you into the Greek Isles. My only recommendation - perhaps it was only this midweek visit, it would have been nice to hear some background music while we enjoyed the ambiance provided by the lit candle and greenery on the table. I have heard that live music does get played, so I would like to return on one of these days. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely immersive greek...
Read moreI have visited many restaurants around the bryanston area over the the many years that I lived here and had never had any noise complaints about my daughter. I now had a ridiculous experience at Filotimo in Bryanston (Cramerview center). This is the first restaurant I have been to where they don’t accommodate autistic kids. This is my experience.
I visited Filotimo on Saturday, August 2nd 2025. I was with my wife and 2 kids (aged 5 & 6). We were seated by the owner. We ordered drinks and a starter. While we were enjoying our drinks, the owner came to our table and told us that my daughter needs to be quiet. She was not talking or screaming so I was surprised. My daughter was humming (stimming) as she is autistic. She wasn’t loud and there were no customers around us. I explained to him that she is autistic and this is what she does. He was not accommodating and gave me a few passive aggressive comments. I offered to leave which he did not stop me from doing. At this point my starter arrived. I requested takeaway boxes and the bill in full (with a tip for the waitress). I did mention that I will write a review and wrote my name down for him so he will remember...
