Golden Falls Spur — Restaurant in Gauteng

Good day. My name is Soobz, it's with much disappointment that I'm putting up this review. As a family our go to restaurant is Spur & especially the Columbine Branch.

We often get outstanding service and the food is always good, however on our last visit we were so disappointed with the quality of food & especially the service we received from the waiter Mafoto & especially the manager Sam.

We ordered Starters & was given the Starters with no cutlery or side plates. The waiter didn't even bother to come & see if we have everything or needed anything else. When she brought our mains we asked why we were not give any side plates, she said she told the manager to bring them. Wow..

When we received our main course, our Steak's were cold. We advised her, then she took them back. Sam the manager then brought the food back without an apology, just saying, "I hope this is better."

All they did was reheat the steaks & chip's. Our chips was drenched in oil cause they refried our same chips. They even gave us back our same cold onion rings. To try and get Mafotos attention or help was a mission. I had to get up & walk to the front to get help from Sam.

After showing him our terrible food. All he said was, "Sorry can I make you new chip's. " he showed signs of such incompetence it was a joke.

We spend thousands of Rands at your establishment & we love your food but this experience has put us off Spur totally.

I love it Still has an old school feel like they still sing unlike the ones I have been to that play birthday songs from the speaker 🙄🥱 The birthday song is so cool as well 😂🤣 shoutout to whoever remixed it. The service was not the greatest only because waitors can disappear for some time but they are friendly staff, and the wait for food was not long. But, i'm not too uptight about that I understand it can get busy. The entertainment for the kids wow wow wow✨✋🏾shoutout to the magician! He actually went from table to table to invite the kids to a mini show. The kids are watched while playing outside at all times, and whoever does the face paint does a fantastic job! There's vr, which is great, And the arcade games, all in all awesome and I will gladly come again and I stay in the north. This was the spur that made me want to be a kid...

Three of us went for breakfast and arrived at the restaurant shortly after it opened. We ordered 2 trailblazer meals and a toasted sandwich. The meals arrived first followed by the incorrect sandwich order. We sent it back and waited for a ridiculous length of time for the correct order - we had already finished our meals before the waiter came back to the table. In the interim one guest ordered a small Coke zero but was told she could only have a can. The waiter then brought her a regular size soda fountain drink. We complained to the manager and she graciously handled the situation and comped the meal. The guest who waited for 40mins for a toasted sandwich opted to have it a a take away.
