Goya's — Restaurant in Gauteng

Ate here previously and received exceptional service and excellent quality food, but Yesterday we went there to enjoy a Mother’s Day brunch with my mother. I made a booking for 5 people in advance to ensure a table only to get there and not to be on the list. We were then seated in a corner and waited a further 10 minutes to order drinks after being seated with only 2 menu’s to share between the table, when a waiter finally arrived we waited quite some time for our drinks to arrive and when it eventually arrived we ordered our meals only to wait more than 2 hours for our food. Our waiter repeatedly stated that our food will be out soon. We maybe saw our waiter twice or 3 times during those 2 hours. After waiting the 2 hours my father approached the manager only to receive the response that we must understand that they are busy. We asked the manager to go and see what the holdup is with our food only to be told 2hours and 10 minutes after ordering that the kitchen will only then start the order. We cancelled the meal and chose to pay and leave. This was also the fourth time that we ate there that the card machines were giving errors and goyas decided to not accept any cash. Previously i have given them a 5 star review but yesterday if it was possible it would have been a negative 5 star review. I am doubting ever going...

Tucked away off Soutpansberg road in the most beautiful setting is a new eating place. The garden, pool and layout is really beautiful. I previously visited the restaurant and rated it highly.

We visited again today, a Saturday when there was a wedding reception in some part of the complex. On my last visit I noted the poor service. Today's service was execrable. It took over 75 minutes to prepare 2 burgers and a ladies steak. The burgers and steak were COLD on arriving at the table. The chips were hot. We had complained twice already about how long it took.

The shredded pork burger and beef burger were beautifully presented. But cold burgers are horrible. The steak was nicely cooked but cold. We were SO disappointed. The lack of pleasure was especially bad as the service was even worse than on our last visit.

The Earl Grey tea was delivered after 21 minutes WITHOUT ANY SUGAR. it took the intervention of a different waiter to get sugar. Goya's is new. The food is very reasonable/ well priced. The service...

What can one say about this place..... beautiful place, it feels if your out of the city, relaxing atmosphere and good food and there it stops, the negative side they do not expect CASH, ONLY CARDS be warned, the waiters are slow blaming the kitchen staff for the food that took more than an hour and after receiving your food it was cold, the other negative thing is when we ask the waiter to bring the bill he disappeared (Chum) name of waiter... I later went to the bar area to ask can we pay or was the food on the house, after a 15 min wait again a other waiter help us to pay, will I recommend this place to go NO for the bad service and YES for the food, pity the owner was not there and the young manager was also not...
