Le Parc by tashas — Restaurant in Gauteng

Long wait before 09h00 to get food. When food arrived the first time it was the wrong order, had to wait another 20 minutes for the correct order to be brought. About an hour after eating and without consuming anything else developed bad gastro and had to rush to the bath several times, lost productivity time. Tashas is usually a lovelly experience but will be reluctant to visit Hyde Park Tashas in the foreseeable future. I couldn't see the last hygiene certificate issued, though I didn't ask for it, haven't requested it and didn't spend great effort on it. Their coffees are excellent though, and the waiter did apologise for the very long wait and...

Disappointing Le Parc Burger at Tashas in Hyde Park last night. Tiny beef patty - no way that was 250g as advertised on the menu (small meat ball flattened), charred and over cooked when I ordered medium rare, little bit of gorgonzola cheese and 3 slices of bacon over cooked too. The burger was dry and tasteless barring the little bit of gorgonzola, and the only bit of 'juice' came from the 3 tomato slices as garnish. Many restaurants in Jhb make delicious burgers, plump, juicy, tasty meat patties and all the toppings - Tashas is not one of them, and it's fair to say that it's probably amongst the most expensive...

Great food. Sadly a toffee apple I bought was rotten (maybe keep them in the fridge??), and when I mentioned it to the manager on my next visit, all I got was ‘oh, sorry’ 🧐🙁 Next time I went, ordered the delicious Reuben bagel with a side order of fries. The Reuben arrived, no fries, and when I mentioned this the waiter said ‘yes, they are coming!’. Where in the world does a chef serve half a meal?? After waiting a few minutes hot fries arrived and the sandwich had cooled so the meal wasn’t that enjoyable. Sorry that’s a 3 star for me. Good food, reasonable service but some extra polish needed...
