Santana Gourmet — Restaurant in Gauteng

I ordered 8 prawns and two prawn rissoles via Uber Eats, and then didn't seem to be able to rate the food in the app afterwards.

The food was generally tasty. The rissoles came with a hot sauce, not the sweet chilli sauce as listed on UE, which I don't eat. Rissoles were good though.

The prawns were listed as coming with rice and one side, either salad or wedges - I chose wedges, and the prawns arrived with only wedges, no rice. They were good sized, king as advertised. They tasted like river prawns that I've had before, which in my view are less flavourful and have a very soft, almost soggy texture. This is not in itself a fault as the restaurant is fully entitled to serve this type or style over others, they just aren't...

Quite disappointing. My issue has to do with the amount of carrot there is in their burritos and tacos. The meat and dipping sauce(Burria) was so flavorless. Dry meat and dead veg in the food. When have you ever seen a burrito stuffed with carrot and lettuce. It’s meant to have rice, beans, some sauce and a protein and the salsas. This is the second Mexican restaurant I have tried in SA and both were equally trash.

It’s a waste, don’t let the UberEats...

Delicious. Loved the 1/2 chicken and potato chips. Mixed Berry Bubble Tea was so refreshingon a hot Spring Day. Chicken prego excellent. Had left over chicken 2 days later (never ever done that before) and heated, was as delicious and yummy as fresh out the oven. Will definitely return. And have the same again.

Simple venue. Quiet shopping centre. Parking available.

Rudd Road runs parallel to Oxford Road. Easy to locate.
