McDonald's Dowerglen — Restaurant in Gauteng

Never going back. Probably the worst service from a mcdonalds I've ever received. About two weeks back myself and some friends stopped for a quick meal. after ordering we went to the till to ask if they could bring our order to us upstairs and whoever was at the till reluctantly said yes and brushed us off. We ignored it and went upstairs. after waiting for about 20-30 min we went down stairs and were told by one of the ladies t be patient and that our order was coming shortly. We went back upstairs and and waited for another 20-30 min before going back down and again they assured us the food was on its way. eventually they brought a meal which none of us ordered so we sent it back. over the next 20min they proceeded to bring our orders up 1 by 1 for some reason. first time I have had to wait an hour to get food from a mcdonalds. Against my better judgement i returned today, this time choosing to go through the drive through. Firstly I had to wait about five minutes for the person on the intercom to finish whatever conversation they were having. after telling her i would like to order from the app she instructed me to drive through to the next window where she still took time to assist the customer behind me. I ordered something which was being promoted as a special on ne of the signs but she charged me the normal rate. when I asked her about the special she said she had no knowledge of it and said she would will 'make a note with management to have it changed' (her actual words, lol). the food is actually quite good but my encounters with employees have been shocking. Feels as if they don't think they are there to work or provide a service and when they do help its almost as if you're a nuisance to them and they are the ones doing...

On the 23rd October 2024 I ordered the new Grimace shake which was advertised as available.

After paying for my order, one of the employees come to me to state "the veggie fingers I ordered were unavailable".

I did not order or scan for such an item yet it was added to my order and I already paid for it.

After this, to my disappointment I was told the shake as advertised was not available either.

After a day of dry fasting for 14 hours. I was unable to enjoy what I initially ordered and I was not refunded for the "veggie fingers" I didn't order...

The employee then told me I could take something for the same amount as what I order and was added to my order was both unavailable.

I need up breaking my fast and leaving the store with thin chicken tenders...

Honestly... Pathetic... For such a big fancy building, you guys are useless...

There's no other words...

I will definitely not return to set store and rather visit the stores at van riebeeck or Meadowdale Mall when in the Edenvale area.

You guys are disappointed.

The manager contacted me and she most definitely made up for the inconvenience I experienced.

She was such a sweet and joyful lady.

I never leave bad reviews as a rule because i dont feel it productive to do so, but this is possibly the worst mcdonalds I've ever been to. The only reason I've been multiple times is because it is the one closest to my house, but this most recent time was the last in a long line of beyond terrible service. Firstly, it claims to be a 24 hour restaurant but on multiple occasions refused to serve us before 7 in the morning or not been open at all. Secondly, it is EXTREMELY slow. Thirdly, absolutely refused to give us our food after ordering online during bad weather when we had organised with the delivery driver to pick it up instead so he would not have to drive in the rain. Lastly, despite ordering on the app and paying for food ahead of time, refused to serve us at all because the drive through was busy, telling us to come back in an hour or so because they had not expected us to come and get the food within an hour of ordering. Also often get orders wrong and the food is extremely inconsistent. If you can, rather drive the extra 5 mins to another mcdonalds or go to KFC instead. Waste of...
