I ordered a toasted bacon, egg and cheese to dine in with an Americano and cream. The order took to long, they gave me a bagel instead of the farmhouse bread. The cream was off. They were confused about the order. The manager had taken the order. He then apologised and remade it - actually looked like he took the ingredients and put it on the bread. The sandwhich then had some tomato relish which I did not ask for. He then said that’s how the sandwhich comes. He agreed to remake it and the photos below are the result of a R98,50 remade for the third time sandwich . I asked for a refund but they said they do not offer refunds as it’s not their policy. The store was quiet so it was not a capacity issue in my view as there are many staff . Sadly a terrible experience. By this time I didn’t want anything else but one of the employees offered to remake it as I was leaving without anything. She finally made a decent sandwhich. However it was time and resources wasted

This is a nice coffee house place in Dunkeld/Hyde Park. The place outside is ugly ... but hey! You weren't expecting a vibrant boulevard in Johannesburg anyway, huh? The coffee is ok, but it doesn't meet any higher barista coffee standards. The coffee blend is roasted to much, brewing is too hot, the result is too bitter and too hot. But listen: I'm complaining on a high level. 😉 If you still enjoy Starsucks than please give Motherland's a chance. But there is definitely one no-go that should not happen: I've ordered explicitly a sit down cappuccino, and I got the coffee served in a bloody cardboard to-go cup.

Dont be put off by the morning queue, you can't miss this morning coffee buzz - what an awesome way to start the day with cheerful staff & simple healthy quick meals. One of my top Jozi coffee spots, this corner slice of Java heaven transports you straight back to the big apple. Whether it's a sit down or take away, the accommodating & humorous barristers will make your day, and of course, the coffee is dammed good!

Work friendly coffee shop that is trying really hard to fight that image and not to be work friendly. Although literally all of the customers were working on their laptops, the place seems to be in denial about the fact and doesn't do much to actually accommodate people working. The loud music is more suited to a disco club rather than a work place. The big poster at the entrance stating that you need to pay R120 per hour of working there conveys rather unpleasant and, in the same time fictitious, tone as no one is actually required to pay. In the similar manner, the menu has pork sandwiches that they don't actually sell. The wifi is unstable. The are plug points, but not at each table. The espresso based coffees are great, the...
