I am deeply disappointed with the service I received following an incident at the Steers branch in Clubview (Club Crossing Shopping Centre) on December 8th, 2024. During my visit between 10:40 AM and 11:30 AM, I lost my wallet there.
Upon realizing this, I returned to the branch the next day, December 9th, to inquire if anyone had handed it in and to request access to the CCTV footage for the relevant time (10:40 AM to 12PM). Unfortunately, I was informed that no one had reported a lost wallet and that the person responsible for reviewing the CCTV footage was unavailable. I was told to return the following afternoon.
This delay was incredibly frustrating, especially given the urgency of the matter. My bank cards were fraudulently used later that evening in Salvokop, Pretoria, between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM. This indicates the person who took the wallet likely waited until later to use it, and reviewing the footage could have provided critical information to address the situation.
Despite my efforts, including following up via phone call, I have yet to receive any confirmation or assistance regarding accessing the footage. The lack of responsiveness and urgency in handling this matter is unacceptable, especially given the potential consequences.
I sincerely hope Steers takes this feedback seriously. Such incidents should be handled with more efficiency...
