On the 7th of April 2024 I placed an order on the Mr D app. Unfortunately, the driver came for delivery but I missed the time of delivery and by the time I got someone to go pick up the order it had been too late. I would’ve loved to humbly apologise to the driver for making him wait that long, it was not intentional but I was quite busy at work & ordered for kids. So after work, around 4pm I went in store to enquire about the delivery because by then I had not received a refund and I assumed that failed delivery possibly go back to the restaurant. I came across a very rude and disrespectful worker with speech diarrhoea at Roman’s by the name Beverly Nyati. I explained the matter at hand in hopes she would be able to give a solution or tell me what happened to the failed delivery. Instead she was quite adamant and dismissive that the order was delivered. For some odd reason my phone was acting up but thank God it’s fine now cos as polite as I was that day, I wanted to gladly back my statement with evidence with the receipts. Bev rudely went on to assist other customers and I noticed how her tone, facial expression and wording was used loosely with the other customers as well. Bev lacks a lot of professionalism and comes across as someone who doesn’t have customer care. Her behaviour was Totally unacceptable and cringeworthy to witness. Her fellow colleague, I didn’t take her name, jumped in swiftly when Bev and I had a disagreement. She humbly & professionally assisted with investigating the failed order and went as far as calling in the Manager to resolve the issue. The matter was resolved eventually after they put me on a call with the Mr D HQ. After a few days, as explained on the phone, I got back a portion of the refund. Meanwhile Miss Bev said, I quote “ngizokshaya mina” meaning “I’ll beat you up” and she went to the kitchen and ranted to her colleague with rage about the whole encounter. Okay, I’m only writing this now because I needed time to calm down and rethink the whole debacle. I work directly with the public and I believe there is no excuse to turn up on any customer like that. Miss Nyati worked tirelessly that day to ruin not only my day but Roman’s pizzas name. I don’t live far away from the restaurant & I would’ve loved to visit for a successful and more pleasant experience. I grew up eating Roman’s pizza, it is easily a favourite. The lack of sit down with Salt and Pepper as well as olive oil is just a Romans thing and taking into account the price it is acceptable . Romans generally always makes a nice fresh green salad with a good balance of lettuce and the rest of the ingredients . I still wish they would put the spinach back on the menu because that leaves me only with olives and AVO - seasonally , thank the heavens Olives is not seasonally .
