Overall summary: Immensely Underwhelming. We tried a big variety of things off the menu, from the chicken skewers, mini bunny chow, calamari and the tomatoe pesto pastry starter (cannot remember the exact menu names). Presentation of the dishes were really nice, the food “looked” good but did not deliver on flavour. The tomatoe starter ended up being the nicest. The others were nothing to rave about, under seasoned and overall boring.

Mains were just the same - R400 for king prawns that come with no side what so ever, literally just 6 prawns on the plate. No sauce, no nothing No rice on offer as a side, Ordered potatoes for lack of a better choice. Steak with mash, again bleh. The mash tasted like smash out of the packet. Pasta was ok, and the lamb chops too, mint sauce was the nicest on that dish. It was my husbands birthday and he said the food he gets at home is way better.

Very overpriced. Gets extremely noisy. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, good cocktails although very watered down. We left quite hungry, upset, and irritated that our R3300 for 4 people could have been better spent at Marble. That’s the calibre we’re used to. Cannot understand the current 4.4 rating. Won’t be returning which is a pity as the place is quite beautiful and the...

My partner and I visited Solo Restaurant in Sandton. I will start first by advising that there are about 3 entrances to the place and i did notice the confusion when you enter by the shopping complex side, i thought i was lost however friendly staff members did show me to the correct restaurant as LIV is also situated im the same shopping complex.

My starters were Oysters (I dont like oysters when I'm too far from the coast) but these did not disappoint. The oysters were fresh definetly value for money. I also had the beef tongue, it was so soft and delectable, I had to have seconds! Compliments to Chef Thabo. For mains I had Cream Beef Pasta, the beef was also tender and my partner had surf and turf which is prawns and beef. The food was amazing.

The restaurant is divided into 2, an indoor dining area and outside sitting area. Outdoors you can catch live tv matches, listen to music, mingle and smoke hubbly too! Indoors, is quiet and very cosy.

I would visit the restaurant again as the drinks were also wonderfully made by Mixologist Tebogo the cocktail chef (with that kind of name, you will get only the best).

Money wise, be ready to spend atleast R800 and more as you need to try different dishes.

Head over to Solo, trust me it is worth...

If I could provide a zero rating I would. Unfortunately the restaurant did not have water on Friday 19 July 2025 and there was no water in the bathrooms for hand washing. Just to flush the toilets. We had to use the table water we had ordered and requested for wet wipes. Secondly, we consumed a terrible cheese cake. It was stale and tasteless. We sent it back but we were still happy to pay because we made the choice to order the cheesecake. Lastly, my friend and I BOTH suffered from FOOD POISONING from the food that we ate. We shared sushi plates, the chicken tacos, fries, cheesecake and the Panna Cotta. This was an unpleasant and terrible experience. Hopefully the manager or owner sees this to prevent such things from happening to other people in future. People cannot afford to get sick from eating food or be expected to dine in unsanitary conditions. It’s...

Brunch dates done right at @solo_sandton!✨ One thing we loved about this experience is that our entire order was perfectly recommended. We asked the waiter for the best options on the menu, but he didn’t just recommend to get it over and done with—he took his time to get to know us. Based on that, he suggested some of the best cocktails we’ve had and food we usually enjoy, like prawns and ribs, but with a twist. We absolutely loved it! Come along with us for a decadent brunch at Solo in the heart of Sandton. Solo is known for their excellent food, and they have recently launched their brunch menu. With a chic twist on original classics, you can enjoy the fried chicken or Solo steak eggs Benedict, a rich shakshuka and naan bread, the delicious solo brunch salad with grilled halloumi, or stacked berry flapjacks with strawberry mascarpone. We tried them all and couldn’t pick a favourite - every dish was excellent. You can also pair it with a variety of mimosas or bottomless Bellini's for only R300 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday. We also had the opportunity to meet the fantastic Chef Kelly who conceptualised the Solo brunch menu. If you’re in the mood for a delicious midday meal in a stylish space Solo Restaurant is a must visit. #jozibrunchspots #jozidatespots #jozieats #jozifood
